Even if they aren't on the touchline, they can at least be assessing the squad and putting a plan in place and having a big input in the recruitment side of things. I voted to give Puel time a week or so ago, but I am now very much in the camp of removing him as soon as possible and getting someone in now to start planning for next season! it's about standards.
FoxinNotts Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 He ain’t going no where, in my opinion. Maguire Fuchs and Vardy have all said they are behind Puel, when asked directly. I think the players have given up on the season, not necessarily Puel. The Guardian/ Telegraph have obviously got some insider knowledge, and something has been said, by some player or another, but I generally think the owners will stick with Puel well into next season. think we’ll limp over the line with three draws or something. Hopefully Palace being the low point.

They aren’t exactly going to come out and say they dislike him. for me there is no sense in keeping him, if it’s true that he’s likely to be replaced in the summer than it serves no benefit in holding onto him now. They can terminate his contract and begin drawing up their replacements list now which will then give the new guy a full pre-season to focus on. 2

They're too savvy to be declaring publicly they are not behind their manager. Rumours seem to suggest a change might happen although I do think it may take another loss or two, to finally get them to pull the trigger

Whats his age got to do with it, fairly average for a football manager, and is he a great coach?
Manc Fox Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 It seems that the players are getting away with playing like a pub team as there is no solution to deal with them. Play bad sack Claudio repeat sack shakey, repeat sack Claude. repeat sack ????

There aren’t many options but there are options, they may be worse options but at this stage in Puel’s LCFC Career if it is indeed the plower power people speak off id actually respect Puel abit more if he grew some bollocks, dropped the players in question and hung them out to dry, while he’s still picking them there is no argument for it imo. st albans fox Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 Puel claims to be confused by the questions re Morgan/maguire selection he says that when he chose dragovic against Soton he was faced with many questions as to why he hadn’t picked morgan now he selects Morgan, he is asked many questions as to why he hasn’t picked dragovic He is either taking us for mugs or he genuinely is completely clueless ....... the third option is that he isn’t totally in control of team selection due to pre existing selection agreements or interference from above

He just cuts a remote figure - one who doesn't understand why things aren't going well on the pitch, or how to fix it. He has the classic air of a manager who is close to being sacked.

Lovejoy Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 I'm not sure whether I want Puel to succeed, or just for a manager to be here for longer than a few months. The fact he doesn't understand why people are baffled at his selection there is concerning.
Clever Fox Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 The one comment from the article i don't like is the players not happy with the intensity in training. To me we didn't look sharp enough the past few games and that might have something to do with it. The sports science should lay down minimum standards of training and any manager should have to comply. A big part of our problems are that we're not physical enough. We need a few bigger and stronger players than what we've got. 1

I don‘t see why 31-year old full-backs, who aren‘t getting any younger or faster, are supposed to be forced to play wing-back. Thirdly, apart from his injury spell in December/January, he‘s already been dropped three times this season. And where‘s that „history“ you mention? Edited 30 April 2018 by MC Prussian 3

Ted Maul Posted 30 April 2018 Posted 30 April 2018 If he can't see why people are asking questions about that, there's something seriously wrong and I have zero faith in him to sort our problems.
