I think the way he went angling for a move ticked quite a few off, but after this weekend that just doesn't matter to me anymore.

Exactly this really

Very similar to the goal he scored away at Palace during our title winning season. I was sat among their fans behind the goal, which was different !

I hate how often refs go back now to not booking blatant simulation. Don't see a lot of it being done retrospectively either, isn't it meant to now? How is that not a card?

What did he do?

Lots of looking / pointing at the sky after he scored. Bit more than the normal religious bit.

Don't think it's looking too much in to things to see it as an obvious nod to Vichai.

The tactical fouling is far more irritating to me. Twice Lamela has blatantly fouled to stop a City attack knowing full well that if it doesn’t get called he’s got a clear run on goal and if it does get called nothing will happen to him. The rules should properly balance risk and reward in those situations and right now they fall well short.

I’m watching on Bein Sports - they say that Mahrez was given special dispensation from the FA today to wear a ‘vest’ in honour of Vichai under his shirt. That’s good of the FA if true.

Which means he could really be off by now.

Just had s quick look at their match thread as can't watch the game. Someone having a moan about it not being fair that they won the league with 100 points and then still spent £70 mil on mahrez.

I can't believe you really held a grudge at all?

It was a pleasure to have seen him play for Leicester and achieve success with us. I wish him well

I really, really hate the way Liverpool fans treat Sterling. I don't even like Sterling but all he did was move to a bigger club, which is pretty natural in football. The fact they still boo his every touch years later is ****ing embarrassing.

I hope we never do that to Riyad, even despite what some feel about his behavior in Jan / Feb this year.

Just classless. We should genuinely be proud we produced (because we really did, he was a shy kid with a lot to learn when Nige and Co got hold of him) a player of his caliber that's becoming key in what is quite clearly THE best team in the world right now.

How is Sissoko still at Spurs lol

Probably the same reason Benny and Rachid will be here until the end of their contracts lol

riyad is as good, if not better than most of the attacking players in the league, not sure why anyone who supports us would be even slightly surprised to see him regularly being one of man city’s best players.

im buzzing that he’s gonna be a huge part in another league win. hope he wins the champs league too.

Him and Vards more than anyone else really owe a lot to Vichai.

They wanted big high profile signings when they first came here, they had to really learn from early mistakes and listen to the scouts to agree to sign an unknown from Ligue 2 and a guy from non league.

There's an interview with Top floating around atm that I missed back in 2016 where he admits he laughed when Walsh first asked him to sign Vards but that he was convinced to and is glad he was.

The likes of Ngolo would have made it big anyway, he was already wanted by France bigger clubs but those two are both well aware they owe Vichai and Co a lot.

They owe the whole set up; the club, the staff, the team and the owners for how they've developed how they have.

The respect between the core group and the owners is obvious to see from the pictures etc. Events like this can only bring the team closer together.
