Evans played one shit ball early on but that aside, I thought he was very good today.

The man is a legend but he didn't get everything right. Having said that, I'd like to see Evans get a decent run of games now.

StriderHiryu Posted 22 September 2018 Posted 22 September 2018 I thing the biggest difference in his display today was that because Amartey was alongside him he was never exposed for pace in a 1 on 1 like he was against Wolves when Ricardo played. I really like Ricardo and am not convinced by Amartey but compared to recent games we looked much better defensively. We still need to find a balance though as solid though Amartey was, he doesn’t offer anything going forward. Chilwell shows us how it’s done if you ask me! Evans was solid other than for the corner.

Love Captain Morgan, but he should only be used as a back up now. Evans or the Turkish Maldini to partner Harry for me – as long as Söyüncü is as good as we've (or I have, at least) been led to believe.

Thought he looked very mediocre and against someone other than the worst attack in the league he could have punished much more. I'm not writing him off yet, but first impressions are he's not the answer to your defensive problems.
