Popular Post TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 I apologise if people think I'm jumping the gun, but match officials have just been appointed for this fixture, so at the moment it appears it's going ahead. Will be a very strange feeling, but right now, we need to get behind the whole team and coaching staff. They need us. 7
HighPeakFox Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 If it goes ahead, I'll be jumping on a train for this - those players deserve all the support we can give. 3
FilbertFrog Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 When I realised the rugby waS on I was going to give it a miss but if it happens this weekend I’d crawl over broken glass to get there
Popular Post StanSP Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 This could be very tough for the players and staff. Everything will be so fresh and raw still in their minds. If game goes ahead, I sincerely hope they know we will support them more than we ever have before. Hope they cope well during the game. I feel like they'll be absolutely fired up for it though. They'll want to get 3 points for Vichai and his family also like never before. 11
Popular Post UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 talkSPORT have asked me to switch from Derby-Birmingham to Cardiff to report on the game for them. I would still be amazed if the game goes ahead. Players are shattered. 10 1 3
The Doctor Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 Going to be difficult if it goes ahead. Wouldn't be surprised if a few key players (thinking Kasper in particular) asked it sit it out - he looked absolutely devastated yesterday
sly1 Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 Difficult we know let's win this for a lovely warm man 1
RowlattsFox Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 I think most players will want to play. It will only be during the game when we really see how much effect the week has had physically on them. They will be fired up for sure, perhaps too much. I think Vichai would want the football to continue and he'll be watching. Not ready to talk about potential line-ups or tactics just yet.
Popular Post ARTY_FOX Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 Will be 0 moans and 0 groans from anyone I think and hope. Just 90 minutes of loud proud support and love for the whole club and especially for Vichai. It’s going to be emotional. The Burnley games not going to leave a dry eye in the ground. 6
weller54 Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 Hope this is postponed.. The player's cannot possibly be ready for a match yet. Although, I have a feeling this will go ahead.
Popular Post grobyfox1990 Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 Need to be loud and proud and show that our city is made of tough stuff and we will get through this even stronger. Vichai will be watching on from his new seat up above so three points for him pls. 11 1

Although, I have a feeling this will go ahead. Ultimately it's up to them/the club, and it seems the FA respect that. Some people need time away to grieve, others prefer to busy themselves with whatever they can. In this case they may even be more motivated to play to honour his legacy and push on as a club in his memory. Everyone handles grief differently, after all, so a sense of normalcy and togetherness as a group may be welcome this week. If enough of the players and staff are keen to play the match - and those who choose not to should absolutely be allowed to sit out - then the match will go ahead.
LCFCtotheprem Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 I want this to go ahead just so us fans can show our support for everyone at the club. But 100% understand if it doesn’t as the players must be broken like the rest of us
Popular Post Izzy Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 I’m not sure I can explain exactly why, but it feels like our first game after this tragedy should be at home. 20

Popular Post UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 October 2018 Popular Post Posted 30 October 2018 A contact of mine involved with Cardiff City thinks they'll announce today that the game will go ahead. Says LCFC have acted with real dignity in conversations with them. Nothing confirmed yet but he said if it is on, Cardiff are making special plans and will treat the occasion with the respect it deserves. 7

I'd normally agree but the last game Leicester City had without King Power was at Cardiff..... Play-off semi-final, where we lost on penalties. The next season started with the deal agreed in principle on the day we faced Palace. 5 1
Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 I agree with what Gerry Taggart said on TV yesterday. Playing football will take their mind off this and give them a way focus their grief. 1
Ted Maul Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 It's obviously down to the players and staff, but I kind of hope it does go ahead- it's a chance for us to get right behind all of them and show our support. It would be an emotional afternoon but the sense of solidarity created could be massive in getting through this as a club. 2

Understandable view but not sure myself. Wonder if playing at King Power might just be too much, in what will be a very emotionally charged atmosphere. Keeping busy deffo helps.

st albans fox Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 i feel the decision should not be left to the players. i suspect many of them would want to get back to playing to try and help them 'escape' everything going on around and inside them. however, it would be just less than a week since the tragedy occurred. they will feel under huge collective pressure to win the game for vichai. what happens if they don't win? how will they feel then? what happens if someone makes a mistake which means they don't win. this wont be just 'a game of football' and i worry about the potential mental consequences for those given the responsibility of playing. one shouldn't forget the difficulty that the Cardiff players will also face. its unavoidable that we will play burnley the following weekend but i would hope that most of them can concentrate next week on training and preparation, something that they surely cannot at the moment.

evil jack Posted 30 October 2018 Posted 30 October 2018 Home or away, it's got to be mentioned that there is a very real danger of heading into action too soon. All this emotion, and outpouring of grief could effect the team in a very negative way. Not to draw too much of a comparison(!), but we could really have a Brazil v Germany 1-7 situation, when they had the whole Neymar injury thing going on in 2014. They shit the bed massively. Don't want that.
