Who do you want January 2019

In my opinion we are 2 players away (in the starting 11) from cementing 7th and pulling away from the rest.

A centre Mid to play with Ndidi or Mendy as they are too defensive and similar.. This is the type of player we were all expecting Adrien Silva to be, a very talented box to box player that dictates tempo and can pick a pass and is very forward thinking.

The other is the hole that was left when mahrez left, a very talented proven attacking midfielder that is very capable of the 10 goals/10 assist that he gave us for the last 3 years.

Obviously we need a striker sooner or later but i think we could hold out until summer as the other 2 positions are more important right now.

Couldnt agree more, we currently have lost a player who brings 25 goals a season in goals and assists and we have no central midfielder helping score or assist. So we are relying on a combination of Maddison and Ricardo with Vardy, literally no other area really produces on a regular basis. Albrighton will get 3-4 goals and the same in assists and Chilwell seems to be improving his output but its blatantly obvious we are now a team struggling to score. This was something we never really had to worry about, even last season when there were many games we struggled in, we would still out teams to the sword on occasions. This season we've only scored 3 or more on one occasion.

This is my main gripe with Puel, he seems content to lose Mahrez and not think about which areas must contribute to plug the gap. Mendy and Ndidi won't create anything and Ndidi seems to have lost any attacking nouse he had when he first came here.

We have to get a box to box midfielder who can either chip in with 5+ goals a season or one that provides opportunities for others to score. Maddison is doing ok and will get better as he settles in but we badly need an effective winger, Gray seldom scores or assists. Out options off the bench are abysmal too both out wide and up front.

Championship players maybe worth a look

1.Nick Powell (Wigan) Although still only 24, Powell hasn’t pushed on as so many hoped he would after joining Manchester United from Crewe back in 2012. The goalscoring midfielder was one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signings and touted as a potential successor to Paul Scholes, but an apparent lack of dedication to his craft led to a drifting career. It finally got back on track at Wigan last year.

In League One, Powell was a cut above the majority of players he came up against, and operated as the attacking luxury in Paul Cook’s well-drilled side. Bids from Bournemouth and Brighton were rejected in January, and Powell now has the chance to continue rebuilding in the Championship at a club that understands how to get the best from him.

2. Ezri Konsa (Brentford) Every year, Brentford sell some of their best players but are able to impressively regenerate and perform, consistently finishing in the top 10 of the Championship. Three of their leading names joined Birmingham for big fees late last summer, but the Bees still finished well clear of Blues.

3. Che Adams (Birmingham) Since signing for Birmingham two years ago, Adams has been forced to endure plenty of upheaval. The bustling striker has the potential to be one of the Championship’s best forwards, but has contended with multiple managerial changes, various different systems and often been played out wide. He's at his best when rampaging through the middle, so perhaps Garry Monk can provide the stability both player and club need.

4. Bradley Dack (Blackburn) The attacking midfielder had already established himself as one of the best players in League One during his time at Gillingham, but last year’s move to Blackburn lifted his performances to another level. Signed for just £750,000, that fee was soon made to seem a snip as he registered 18 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances during a memorable debut season.

5. Gil Dias (Nottingham Forest) Gil Dias stands out as the most exciting player at Forrest. The 21-year-old Portuguese winger signed for Monaco in 2015 but has spent much of his time on loan elsewhere, including Rio Ave and Fiorentina. He has already displaced Joe Lolley, who finished the campaign strongly, and his trickery adds another dimension to Forest’s attack. They also have the option to make the deal permanent if Dias continues to impress.

6. Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke)
Capable of playing a holding role or being pushed further forward, the 22-year-old is an excellent all-rounder. On top of his driving runs and boundless energy, he also packs a fierce shot. Championship goalkeepers have been put on watch.

2. 3.4 would all be great signings.

Tbf all of the above are great suggestions bar Powell

Yes, I'm showing a little US based bias here - but can someone tell me why Leicester aren't in the mix for Dortmund's Christian Pulisic who apparently wants to play in the EPL?   Chelsea is supposedly offering 45 million.  But that aside, he can play any of the 4 attacking positions, offers some needed toughness and he has proven that he can score in the Bundesliga.

LCFC's advantage is they can give him a better promise of playing time - which with the next world cup cycle approaching and a new US manager in place - would have to be appealing.  They're planning to build the team around him but for that to happen he needs to play.  No guarantees of that at Chelsea or any other top 6 club.  He'd add depth, probably push Maddison and Gray and be an immediate upgrade on Iheanacho.  And he's 20.

Would be nice, doubt he would come to us though

Vakoun Issouf Bayo -  21 - Striker playing in Slovakia.  Rapid Vienna are looking at him from I read here.  Would only cost around 2M Euros. Someone else may wish to put up the obligatory Youtube Video:ph34r:.

No idea on names but we're desperately short of goal threat from out wide. Whether it's in a 4231 or 433 we can probably count on no more than 5 league goals this year from Gray, Albrighton, Ghezzal and Diabate combined. Maddison will get a few but is a number 10.
