For the sake of my 10 year old and 5 year old I will grit my teeth and pretend to enjoy it.

The real bonus is no work for a week and a half so can exercise as much as I want!!!

Happy Xmas x

Hopefully not in hospital again this Christmas :fc:

Just the four of us at home Xmas day then up to see my folks and the outlaws on Boxing Day.

Off work while the kids are off school so will try to avoid them and the the wife as much as possible.

No golf or drinking for me so probably spend most of my time on here.

What a sad life :(

With the outlaws who are staying, see my family, a bit harder this year as I’ve lost 3 close family members and we have orphaned children to do our best with. We will make sure that it’s a good one though, people far worse off than us still.

Hope you all have a good one anyway ?

First time in years I haven’t got ages off so just the bank holidays for me this year.

Having Christmas dinner at mine and I think my sister and her family are coming over in the evening. For the last couple of years I have cooked everything from scratch from huge cakes, pork pies and nice stuffing etc but i’m not sure I will have enough time off to do that this year.

At my mum's Christmas day and boxing day. Back work on the Thursday and Friday, and then up to my sister's on the Saturday, which happens to be my birthday too.

It will be a strange one for me, my ex husband is taking my children to Lanzarote for the week so it will be my first ever Christmas without them. Going to my Mums house for Christmas dinner and then we will have another Christmas day when they are back home. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to going to the match on Boxing Day but I will be there. I will mostly be drinking, eating and watching TV for the rest of the time ?

I think in reality that will apply to about 90%of the people on here ...   :)

Looks like it's worked out well again....

Daughter (14) will be at mine for Xmas Eve and most of Xmas Day. She just wants pigs in blankets, but I'll chuck a bit of chicken, roast spud, veg & gravy on, too.

Plan to get a few photo albums out to think of good times past and good times to come. Will probably get a few CDs on, too. Maybe no TV at all, unless there's a particularly good film on. Certainly no booze.

Am about a quarter of the way through doing my cards now. Haven't bought any presents yet - daughter will give me a list of room decorations to buy from Amazon, token efforts for nephews to be bought in town tomorrow and that's it.

Boxing Day, daughter will conveniently be over at the traditional gathering of the former in-laws. It's their family tradition to get together every Boxing Day, get drunk, rant, argue and storm out. Daughter looks forward to this entertainment.

That frees me up to get down the City to watch, stunned, as Pep's so-called invincibles are put to the sword, 6-2.....

Here you go, lads, Happy Uncle Alf's Christmas present to get you in the mood: an article on why Scrooge is a heroic anti-capitalist, anti-consumerist friend of the environment:

Will you join in a song with me now, lads? Altogether now........ "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!" :D

Could be worse. We could all come from Coventry.....

All sorted on presents which is a first for me, normally panic on the 23rd. Going back to the parents for a couple of weeks which will be alright. I quite enjoy Christmas these days, partly cos it means going back and seeing friends I don't see often and it's the only day when people (at least people I know) actually put their phones and devices down for a bit to actually savour being in the room with present company. Pub at lunchtime is normally ace too. I also enjoy it more since I've taken over cooking duties from mum. My initial plan was to cook woodcock but I was voted down on that (would also have been impossible to source) so doing a beef wellington with parsley root and golden beetroot with a nice rich jus and then the usual trimmings; roast spuds, honey-glazed carrots and parsnips, sprouts and bacon, pigs in blankets and whatever other shit people ask for. Not decided on a starter yet, might just do prawns with lots of chilli and garlic.

Might head to a hunt on Boxing Day morning otherwise it's a day of watching the football for me.

Looking forward to it for the first time in years. Had a tough year and wouldn't have got through without help and support of one person in particular on here (the legend that is @Izzy Muzzett) but things are on the up and I have a nice Christmas with my wife and two sons to look forward to. There probably won't be quite as many presents under the tree this year but no one minds that.

In terms of Christmas Day, a quiet one. Staying at home, outlaws popping in for breakfast, then some dinner and the missus is working night shift Christmas night at the LRI so probably a quiet one.

Be with the ones you love if you can x

Merry Christmas x

work early in the morning, should be finished by about half 1 then bang it down the m62 to get back home before all the scran is burnt. then probably go out and get slaughtered until my alarm goes off for work again a few days after.

Birthday on 24th then dinner at my place the ext day. Will have my family and inlaws around. Relaxing time with good food, drinks and dessert.

Volunteered to do the dinner this year. You know when you suggest something expecting everyone to say ‘no it’s ok’ or ‘we’ll all chip in’ and instead they say ‘that’d be lovely thanks’
