koop. Posted 21 December 2018 Posted 21 December 2018 Lost Kante Lost Mahrez Lose Vardy and we are totally ****ed Investment needed and a lot of it.
pazzerfox Posted 21 December 2018 Posted 21 December 2018 I don't blame him one bit. Vardy would suit Liverpool down to the ground with their fast tempo, high pressing game. We should be playing to Vardy's strengths, not isolating him! The difference in demeanour between Klopp and Puel is chalk and cheese, you can tell that Klopp has a special relationship with his players and they all love him! It couldn't be more opposite with Puel. We should break the bank and get Wagner!!!!

Are you really thay naive to think he signed this with Puel in mind? He knows as much as anyone that he won’t be here for much longer which is probably why these rumours have surfaced.

I respect him as a player and as a person for what he's done for us all. However, he is approaching 32 and although still quick he does not look as quick as he used to be for me, and that was one of the main aspects of his game, the issue with vardy is that he's been playing in a system that suits him for a while, and although as a club we know we need to deviate from the route 1 plays over the top of the past, we cannot do that with Vardy, because he simply has not adapted, i've said for a couple of seasons now while vardy has been integral to our success he has limitations in his ability to play any other way. Even with the changes Puels style still requires strikers to run into channels, it still requires strikers to position themselves appropriately and defend in blocks from the front, it still requires strikers to finish chances, this season JV has missed many great chances, his movement has been a shadow of the past and he does not seem to be positioning himself in a way that can allow him to get possession of the ball as much, whether that's CP's instructions or not we don't know, but I doubt very much he's telling Jamie not to run into channels and move himself into space, something he's struggled to do this season. He knew how Puel plays when he signed his lucrative new contract deal only 4 months ago and I cannot see big clubs offering him a bumper wage deal ontop of paying 15-20m for a 32 year old, America is probably the only place he is going to get that kind of deal where he would consider moving his family. We need to move forward, our premier league winning team is being stripped and we all know it needed to happen as we transition forwards, regardless of who is the manager of our club, nobody is likely to come in and try to replicate a style that suits Vardy because it just isn't sustainable anymore. He's almost 32 and we cannot carry on building a squad that suits his style of play as we very easily risk a situation where he retires or leaves in the next 12 months and we all of a sudden have a system that does not work and a squad of players that struggle to adapt to a new style. Claude Puel must NOT deviate from his course just to suit Jamie (as should no manager), Jamie must carry on trying to adapt rather than have everything adapted around him, 1 player is not more important than the other 10 on the pitch, even Messi and Ronaldo have had to adapt to different styles with new managers and Vardy is no exception. We are not in a relegation situation where a new manager has come in and is going back to basics to try and get vardy to score to get us out of the shit, we are safe and are transitioning to a new style. He is clearly trying and should continue to do so, but I feel people are trying to use this as a club to bash the manager over the head with for doing the right thing and adapting the individuals around the SQUAD rather than the SQUAD around individuals. I hope he stays with us, but if he cannot adapt and want's to leave then good luck to him, we should not hold him back and vice versa. A lot of what you wrote is fair enough but when you said how he cant play puels way all i could compare him to was iheanacho and gray and it made me shudder. Nothin you have said is wrong but we need a much better player than the other 2 and the previous failed attempts before we consider changing too much up front. I like that we are linked with gabbiadini but as replacement for vardy, **** no. We aint getting much better either based on our transfer market history, so keeping him sweet should be quite high on our list of priorities right now imo, as much as it feels wrong. Satisfice - decide on and pursue a course of action that will satisfy the minimum requirements necessary to achieve a particular goal. If it is a choice between vardy and puel, vardy wins at this moment in time.

It's certainly not a majority, or even a large minority, is it? @ThaiFox didn't even say they signed because of Puel, so really it's 3 people

They're just countering tedes like you saying the opposite - that no-one will sign because of him. Thanks for the block advice but I'm not wasting my first one on such a middling no-mark.

We aint getting much better either based on our transfer market history, so keeping him sweet should be quite high on our list of priorities right now imo, as much as it feels wrong. - Personally I think our transfers under Puel have been solid, Madisson, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Benkovic and Ward look solid. Diabate is young and needs time, Ghezzal hasnt even had a run in the team yet so won't write him off. Satisfice - decide on and pursue a course of action that will satisfy the minimum requirements necessary to achieve a particular goal. Fightforever Posted 21 December 2018 Posted 21 December 2018 The fact is Vardy making all of this noise to get puel sacked is wrong. What he has done for the club is irrelevant in this matter (I myself am puel out) but as far as I'm concerned the basic hierarchy is as follows. Board | Manager | Players And no one is telling me any different. If we have this amount of player power in our squad then to the displeasure of some here on this fourm I'd be happy to see them gone. I truly hope this is all false about Vardy trying to get puel sacked and the transfer request but sadly after all the news that came out after ranieri's sacking I think the player power rumours are true. And another point after Vichai's death if these rumours are true how dare they cause all of this comotion when Vichai's son is still grieving over his dad's death it's not acceptable.

It does seem so. Rumours very similar sounding to when Ranieri went. Are Puel and Ranieri very similar managers? Or is this group of players doing the same thing twice? Or is it all bollocks? Either way, not good. And no smoke without fire The line up tomorrow could be funny
