Beechey Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 What a performance. Not played a defensive game like that since the title winning season to my memory.
Suzie the Fox Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 How happy am i right now.... Get the Puel in/out Poll up please xxx
North Leeds Fox Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Get in! Fairplay to puel! Brilliant result
pSinatra Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Couldn't be prouder. Rode our luck a little, but we were excellent
Tuna Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Textbook away performance. Well done to all involved. Hamza, Chilwell and Ricardo were excellent. Lets kick on from this.
The Doctor Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 We've threatened to do that on occasions in games, players finally executing the tactics well, with a bit of luck added in there. Will buy Puel some time if nothing else, and didn't look like the players had given up on him.
cityfanlee23 Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Analysis of todays game- Claude Puel - Another tactical masterclass today in terms of all round game. We set up to defend well in the first half, soak up pressure and let chelsea attack us, not really sure why the fans seem to want us to counter press chelsea away from home when they have us pinned back, thank god Puel understands how silly that would be, we made ourselves difficult to break down and closed down the spaces which forced chelsea to put Giroud upfront to start pumping balls into the box, this change shows how well we have been set up defensively. Our patience paid off and we got through the 1st half unscathed. 2nd half we turned on the taps and looked phenomenal, movement in the transition was effortless and we looked outstanding on and off the ball, proving Puels tactics can work in the harshest of environments if we just stick with it. Vardy was patient and when the chance came he took it. He was isolated in the first half but not sure what people expect when pinned back away from home at stamford bridge. His work shows brilliance at times and inconsistency at others, we are all frustrated by how Puels tenure has gone so far but the job he was handed when he arrived I feel is much bigger than fans give credit for. GK - Kasper: Class, did everything we needed of him and really commanded his area. Defenders - Chilwell: Absolutely outstanding, defensively rock solid and had them on the back foot when pressing forward in the second half. Class. Maguire: Made a mistake that almost cost a goal but has been a rock apart from that moment, had the air covered and set up well. Morgan: What a game, absolute man mountain, caused the defenders loads of problems when he was forward for set pieces but the forwards caused him no problem in defence. Class act today. Ricardo: One of the star men on the pitch, absolutely played chelsea off the pitch, unstoppable for the goal and looked dangerous every time he got possession, top draw. Midfield - Ndidi: Solid performance, passing wasnt the best and his tackling was a bit clumsy at times but he got the job done and did his job really well, helped the transition from defence to attack and won a lot in the air. Mendy: Played Like Kante of 15/16, absolutely class, posession on the ball was brilliant, calm and composed in tight areas and was all over the pitch. Choudhury: Really good game again today, sometimes his positioning isnt perfect and he is guilty of sometimes closing down and leaving himself out of place, but he's learning and definitely looks comfortable. Him and Ndidi pressed well when needed. Attackers - Albrighton: Some amazing crosses today, chased down the ball in the 2nd half and covered his position well in defence, quiet at times but his job was done. Maddison: Really great game, got all over the pitch and made himself available, great assist and his passing and general awareness in transition was brilliant. Vardy: Quality goal and took his chance well, isolated first half but to be expected given the opposition and being away from home, made some great runs into the channel and was available to drop back to collect possession for the counter, looked comfortable today. Subs - Gray: Not much to do but ran into space and looked confident, did not have much time to make an impact given chelsea had gone into full attack. Iheanacho: Same as Gray. Overall- Reall great game, very sensible approach and we deserved the win, we defended well and soaked up the pressure away at one of the hardest grounds in the league against one of the top teams in the world and bar a few individual mistakes we looked solid, Puel IN.
EnderbyFox Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 What a performance in the second half, Chilwell & Ricardo were immense. Merry Christmas
Corky Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 To go to Chelsea twice and keep two clean sheets is some going. It is a terrific result. Of course, the frustration at recent results is understandable, the questions over the manager won't go away but what I will say is that if Puel does go soon, we aren't in a bad place.

Manwell Pablo Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Yeah as I said elsewhere second half best half of football I seen us play for some time, just much more direct. if it’s a sign of things to come following talks at the club this week excellent but time will tell.
StriderHiryu Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 Ricardo is ****ing mint. Seriously one of the best right backs in the league. After getting found out the hard way defensively earlier in the season, he now looks imperious. https://streamja.com/1KZ2 The goal is here. In one passage of play, Ricardo wins the ball back, drives at three players, pulls of a "chop" to beat his man, and plays a great pass into Maddison. Class !
Ecdysiast Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 fantastic second half - surprised and thrilled.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 22 December 2018 Posted 22 December 2018 That was a Puel masterclass Even Iheanacho when he came on looked fired up and good
