Barnes coming back

Recommended Posts

Reminds me a little of Chilwell last season, he was very inconsistent but with obvious potential and has moved on big time this season. Barnes could be the same, he’s going to make mistakes but he can iron those out and improve so come next season he’ll show what the fuss is about, potential is clearly there.

Still can't get that horror miss to get us back to 2-1, it just needed placing just like the one he had to put us 1-0 up and he managed to blast it wide and nut meg Demarai in the process. He's come so close now that he could be on 4 goals for us already which is probably pissing him off, but it'll come. He is the bright spark at the minute along with Tielemans who looks like he's made out of sapphire.

What a poetic turn of phrase.  lol

I never knew you had it in you.

Harvey was on fire at West Brom and should’ve been allowed to complete his education there.

It's been the correct decision to recall him for me. He's getting games for us and showing how important he will be for us already. If he was rotting in the u23's or on the bench as he was last season then I would be in agreement.

Interested to hear your reasoning for thinking he should not be back with us?

Barnes will be fine.  He gets himself in dangerous positions better than anyone on the side (including Vardy), and he's kept that up from West Brom.  His finishing has been awful but I think that's a matter of confidence more than anything.

He's a top player,  but what the hell is going on with his profile on Sky. It looks like they've stuck his head on somebody else's body

Looks like they made him watch Puel naked twerk during his photo, and forced him to smile before they took it.

What's he going to learn there in a few months that he won't playing here exactly? He's shown enough to warrant first team selection here in just a few games. Getting him used to this level is now far more beneficial.

Once he gets that first official goal for us, all hell is going to break loose. He is England's next big thing.

I don't think Chilwell likes him in his space, but maybe he should look at what happened just after he went off with that disaster of a cross leading to the third.

Chilwell should learn how to use him properly, rather than just trying to sprint past people and cross all game, it's far better to use others so work the space and create gaps.

Yeah I noticed Chilly and Barnes having words on a couple of occasions. Once they work out each others games you'd imagine they will be a hell of a partnership. He's used to playing with Gray in front of him who prefers to slow down and cut in. Barnes seems a lot more direct and willing to go left or right - so they'll have to work that out between them.

The timing of his runs and his positioning is ****ing incredible for someone with such little experience.

If he takes just one of his chances yesterday we'd have been raving about him. The two in the first half would have required good finishes but the one-on-one in the 2nd half needed to be taken.

He'll be fine, just hope that his next goal isn't far away.

He played well, he looked a bit rushed in front of goal, he's a kid and he'll learn.

You can't wank yourselves silly that we're giving youth a chance one minute and complain that they lack a bit of composure or experience the next.

There'll be plenty more moments and games like Sunday before all these lads come of age in footballing terms.

Nonsense.

He's being integrated into our team and system and is showing so far he is more than worth his selection.

With Albrighton injured we'd also have no cover whatsoever.

An entirely sensible decision to recall him and so far justified.

I honestly think get him that first goal and he'll become a ruthless little coont. He's done it at every club he's been on loan at, always gets an early goal and then goes off on one. He is desperate to do it here, I've not had high hopes for a youngster here since Tomi Petrescu hahaaaa

Thought he had a very poor game yesterday, Apart from the obvious misses, he was nowhere near brave enough. Didn't want to make runs to support Chilwell or stretch the play. Also backed out of a few 50/50s.

Not having an overt go at him or saying he should be banished to the stands, he's young, will need a lot of time and patience.

Very good young player think maybe nerves got the better of him yesterday on a different day he'd of bagged a hat trick big step up from championship to premier league

Home town club, eager to make an impression and too long to think about his shots.
