More likely Danny Ward, given that Liverpool team news was frequently leaked in 17/18 and it was somewhat of an open secret that it was him, then he moved here and suddenly Liverpool's lineups stopped being leaked and ours started...

It's an intriguing transfer deal this one.

 

It seems so easy, I mean I reckon most of us would just offer 70 million + Silva and be done with it right?

 

I'm fairly sure though, no official figure or fee has ever been properly quoted, right?

The 40 million was touted around about Feb time when we realised how good he was, but I've never seen anything since, other than speculation of 40 mill including Silva.

 

Does that mean Spurs or Man U would have to pay 55-60 Million? taking into account of Silva's worth?

Given his age Silva's value is 10 million max.  He might be a factor in our favor but financially, that's about the size of it.

Going back to his quotes earlier this week, surely the fact he stated 'things are moving' and that there will be a solution in the 'next few weeks' is good for us, seeing as we're the only club reported to be in formal talk with an actual bid on the table (Rob Tanner confirmed we've offered a package in the region of £40m)

 

If things were 'moving' with another club, surely there would be some form of leak on who it was. So far it's just been a case of 'Man United might be interested if Pogba leaves' or 'Spurs might be interested if Eriksen leaves and they can't sign Lo Celso'

 

I could be wrong but I just think the fact that he's stated progress is being made points towards us more than anyone else. If he came out and said his future was no closer to being decided then that would be a lot more worrying, as that would essentially rule out our proposal.

He’s got plenty of ability, we just handled him about as poorly as it’s possible to handle a player.  Can he be a starter in the PL?  Debatable - but that doesn’t mean he’s not a quality player.
