United have really been f****** to us this year haven't they. Beaten us twice and then lose to Wolves and (soon) Everton

Double whammy

1st game of the season was an Amartey brain fart and a lucky goal

Deffo Everton are the favs. Best points, goal diff and slightly easier run in of the 4 teams. I think we’ll just about be 10th

So after all that, everyone say Everton have overspent on shit players, played crap and a re a club in turmoil...they still look like ending up in 7th. How shit are the rest of us

Yep that’s a very good point and though they have had bad patches, including losing last week, they are not in turmoil. The top six are on another level, in spending power, ability, quality, depth of squad etc. Seventh is the realistic target and level for clubs like us including Everton. We’re some way off top six, just look at the points gap.

Best hope for glory is the Cups, miracle of 2015-16 won’t happen again; well not for a 1000 years maybe. ?

Dont think any of the clubs fighting for 7th can do well in Europa  and expect to maintain league position next season.

Ourselves and Everton should have the resources to do so imo

Much as we’d all love European football, I think it might be a step too early this summer, all the issues Burnley had this year. 7th is talked about as a guaranteed spot - it isn’t. It would mean a load of qualifying rounds to get to the proper competition and mess up pre season. If we finish 7th then fine, but it might be a blessing this season to miss out. If Watford win the cup it’s irrelevant anyway

Be typical after all the stick we've given Silva and their fans this season!

Everton nicked a late point in the 96th minute against us too at Goodison (spelling)

Mind you it shows how average they have been for most of the season in games they ought to win that they've beaten Man U/Arsenal and Chelsea at home and drawn with Liverpool - yet still not certain of a top 10 finish.

I know that this season we are going to finish anywhere between 11th and 7th but next season 4th to 6th can be possible after seeing the state of chelsea, manure and arsoles.

I think we're more or less sure of Top 10. Said a few weeks ago we'll finish 9th behind Watford and Wolves. Still think that. If we were to finish 7th we would need 2 wins and a draw at least

Not bizarre at all.

We've beaten Chelsea away and City at home.

Arsenal away we were the better side 1st half, but they moved up the gears 2nd half and showed their class.

To say yesterday's point was our last of the season is far more bizarre ?

MIGHT HAVE been out last point of the season. never said it with a defeatist attitude  or scared or anything. we have been mediocre last couple of games.

you've over reacted  a bit here. time to move on.

Not over reacted, just disappointed that some of our fans feel that home games v Arsenal and Chelsea might be beyond us.

Think you must know how the mighty Arse got on today at home to Palace.

All the best?

I agree we probably needed to beat Newcastle and West Ham to get 7th but it’s still not completely impossible. However, the idea that we wouldn’t want European football because ‘we’re not ready’ is very odd.

When would we be ready and ready for what precisely? I assume being ready means able to do well in the competition while not letting it affect our league form but there’s always a danger of that-just look at Man Utd today after being beaten by Barcelona. Were they ‘not ready’?

The example of Burnley is trotted out but it’s a poor comparison as we’ve far more resources than they have. They’re doing brilliantly to just stay in the premier league but we’re aiming for Europe every year.

Perhaps some people need to realise this is a golden era for our club and it may not last forever. In the meantime if we did qualify for Europe that’d be only the fifth time in our history and I for one would not turn it down.

The perceived curse is bonkers.

Just because every couple of seasons, someone over performs, gets a European place then turns out to be a flash in the pan the following season, skirting relegation, doesn’t mean we should avoid trying to get 7th.

The club will want the revenue stream.

The squad is big enough now. If anything, the squad go do with a weedwacker, to clear out some of the junk.

You still get people blaming Burnley's poor season on Europe, you know, despite them being out of it since ****ing August lol

We need probably 7 points minimum. We've got the fewest games, the hardest games and the second worst starting position of the four. If we get 7th from here we've done brilliantly.

Do agree however both home games are maybe winnable.

The only thing left for us to do is kick liverpool in the pants and rollover for man city.

No chance. I want Leicester to win every game.

We should get a minimum of 4 points out of the remaining 3 games. Looking at 6 points for a good finish. Anything less than 4 will be disappointing.

7th now looks unlikely but some good performances in these games could be good for the morale of the club and might give us a bit of momentum for the start of the new campaign.

We all know how that all worked out a few years ago??

Don’t be a bellend. We’re going to win it again next year.
