Agreed but if the FA are being the moral guardians now, they’ve ignored actions from a fascist regime and support of a terrorist organisation.

They may have. My issue is that nobody can complain about a punishment for something that is simply wrong.

It's really not surprising the FA have charged him.

The double standards are ridiculous though. Hennessey gets let off for literally giving a Nazi salute and claiming he didn't know what it was yet Hamza gets done for stupid stuff said 5/6 years ago.

Why not just give him a warning or something similar?

Trial by social media is ridiculous. If those Arsenal fan didn't dig it up, the FA have fvck all idea about it.

I would hope that these charges were brought forward because the persons at the FA responsible for filing these types of charges are merely being jobsworths. I also hope Choudhury can respond to the charges and show how much he's matured eloquently enough to avoid punishment.

Hennessey was charged, so I don't see where the double standard is.

Not charged by the FA...

Apparently it's fine to make jokes surrounding domestic abuse but not depression etc like Hamza did.

This is not about other cases. It is about right and wrong. Unfortunately Hamza got this wrong.

How do you think people get sentenced? We can certainly compare cases and what we have learned is a convenient ignorance or support for a terror organisation is acceptable to the FA

Which is why the amateur approach of our football club towards this stuff embarrasses me. If this is how we manage our young players, how can we expect to break into the top six ???

i’m shocked that someone with the management and foresight of Susan Whelen hasn’t got this kind of thing under control

Use the Wayne Hennessey defence and just claim you don't know what the N word means.

I think this has been sorted by the club , the player has held his hands up ,reolised his mistake ,FA don’t need to do anything, bigger issues to deal with than a 6year old post

Virtue signalling freaks.

Double standards as well. Rice never get charged and his were probably worse.

What did Rice actually tweet?

Thank God for the FA! Where on earth would we be if they weren't around to protect us by punishing people for comments they made five years ago when they still were children?

Was Susan Whalen even here when he posted it, don’t think so.

This is all complete bollocks - but I don't actually blame the FA.

I blame all those self-righteous, seemingly irreproachable PC pressure groups and media outlets that are sprouting up from everywhere and leave governing bodies and public services with no choice but to bow fearfully to their bullying, beyond-the realms-of-reasonable-debate demands.

Can we not just be left alone to act as decent, honourable, law-abiding - though inevitably imperfect - human beings without being hounded into shame and notoriety for the most trivial detour off the path of PC-sanctioned conformity?

Agreed but Hamzas tweets were not dug up from the PC brigade. They were dug up by salty Arsenal Fans because we slapped them 3-0.

Looking at the rules, he will admit to the mistake a pay a fine -- I am not sure how much, since I don't know if he had signed a professional contract at that point. I can't imagine even the FA would be stupid enough to suspend the only British Asian footballer in the Premier League for being a racist based on 6-year-old tweets.

I kind of agree. But he was a child when he said those things. He got it wrong but a warning would have been sufficient.

Declan Rice supporting the IRA and Wayne Hennessey giving us the Nazi salute is worthy of banning, not this.

I genuinly hope football clubs are educating their academy players about social media use.
