Doubt it. Norwich have Max Aarons and Sheffield United value attacking defenders.

Think he needs to drop down to the Championship to get a guaranteed start.

I don't think they'll keep hold of Max Aarons personally. You might be right about dropping to the championship though

He's been absurd for us given what we spent but I've never bought him being consistent the season after we won the league, he fell off a cliff with everybody else.

Always a legend, though.

Even the season after the title,he was still one of our better consistent performers...And in that period seriously underrated.

Danny Simpson would be one of our best ever signings, given the modest fee set against his contribution during the premiership winning season and the Champions League season afterward. Alongside Huth, Morgan and Fuchs he was superb defensively. That back 4 and their no nonsense approach was feared I think by modern day strikers and Danny did his job so well; often being the 3rd centre back at times and the last line before Kasper. He also had to carry the extra load that Mahrez had left him; so he was rarely seen in an attacking sense.

He clearly didn’t fit the Puel model of a fullback and that’s where he dropped out of favour; that isn’t his style.

No question he was consistently excellent in the championship winning year and it’s just sad to see that the game now needs more a Perriera style fullback than a Danny Simpson.

Thanks Danny and all the best!

To take inspiration from another thread... signings you were non plussed about but turned out to be great! Thanks for being part of the side that made our dreams reality Simmo, best of luck wherever you go

What a season he pulled out when we needed him most. Forever a hero in my eyes

The amount of times we saw him dart from his side of the pitch to left back to make an interception was incredible.

What needs to be mentioned is his development as a person, everyone saw the headlines around him at the start of his time at the club. At the end you hear nothing and he seems a lot more "screwed on" about life

Great player for us. Massively underrated. Even during our title run he was constantly referred to as our weak link by pundits.

On his personal life, everyone deserves a second chance and he grabbed his with both hands...if you'll pardon the expression.

Bit of me dies every-time a player from the 15/16 season leaves. Imagine when the last one leaves.

I imagine it'll be Albrighton (or Vardy still kicking around at 40). Will be the end of an era.

Proper unsung hero outside of our club and was instrumental in our title winning season, defensively solid, not alot got past him and he carried out his job to perfection, for me will go down as one of the best RBs ive seen play for us, all the best Danny, would always get a warm round of applause from me if hes to return to the KP with another team

Absolute Mr Consistency in our title winning season and genuinely loves the club.

Another legend gone, but never forgotten.

There was one moment which just epitomised his career here for me. Think it might have been the year we won the title and the opponents were through on goal, looked a certain goal and he ran back 50 metres or so to eventually block the shot with his thigh and saved a certain goal. Got a huge cheer. Forget the opposition though.

Wholehearted trier and very decent defender. Good value purchase.

Hope he finds a good move he could do a decent spell at a newly promoted team.

Got a feeling it was against Manè for Southampton at 0-0? They spent the next 10 mins crying for a pen

Wasn't the most gifted of players but one thing we couldn't knock him for was his commitment to the club, particularly in the title winning season.

He was magnificent against Sevilla at home.

I thank him for his service to the club. He was a vital contributor to our title win and beyond. Absolute rock at the back and consistently one of our better defenders. As a footballer I respect him.

I won't miss him though.  One, our style has moved on and two, he makes me uncomfortable.  Maybe I'm naive (I hope not!!!!) but I doubt most men have it in them to strangle their partner. I know that everyone deserves a second chance. He went to court, did his punishment etc. But that sort of crime makes me deeply uncomfortable.  Sorry to be all heavy. But I'm not sad someone who committed domestic violence is no longer at the club

Unfairly cast out the team in the manner that he was. He was still a viable option at RB at the time and always gave 100% when called upon.

I'm happy that he did get a brief recall to the squad but the time is right now to move on. A top servant who I wish all the best.

I've never liked him and always seen him as a weak link. Now he's finally going I'll thank him for his time and effort here and wish him all the best for the future. Hope that doesn't make me a hypocrite. I'd still have preferred we kept De Laet over him.

We don't win the league with De Laet in that side over Simpson. De Laet couldn't have played that role that well.

I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up at Burnley actually. Quite near to home and he fits the way they play. He's surely better than Phil Bardsley.

I backed him EVERY week to score lol

Legend, good luck, hope his head is straight and hes a better man for having been part of LCFC

What a bargain.

Very solid defender, limited going forward, but very solid and reliable in a back four. In parts quintessential during the title-winning season. Kept it simple, efficient.

At 32, he's probably at the peak of his career. Wish him well wherever he goes, maybe a newly-promoted team will take him on. Norwich or the playoff final winner?

He still has it on a Championship level, so here's to a few more years in professional football, Danny.

I'm also glad for him that he managed the turnaround on a private level, with all the temper issues off-pitch a while ago.

Redemption personified?

We don't win it without Sclupp, Nathan Dyer, Leo or Inler either. Not really sure what that has to do with my post. De Laet was apart of the title winning team. Without him we probably don't win it either. TBH without any one of a million things we may not win it.

Did you show a profit?  :)

Agree wholeheartedly with second part of your post.

Thanks to Danny for his on field performances, made a massive difference to us when he replaced RDL. I hope he has a successful onward career. It's sad to see another of our Title winning squad leaving, but I think we've hung onto some of them beyond the call of loyalty...although I've thought that about Kasper for a while and he puts in a magnificent performance against Manchester City.
