He definitely made a tonne of space for us today.

His work off the ball was sublime.

The reality is, he's got a price tag of 30 millions  on him.

30 bloody millions......

That’s where the words is fails for me.

Far too many players has sacrificed for this clown so he can stay.

Far too many chances he received and delivered a little.

This situation has reached into its very intolerable stage.

If Perez went on Strictly he’d probably get booted off for breaking his dance partners leg

He’d be worse than John Sergeant. Although they share in common being able to see the cogs in their heads go round as they process what to do next (by which point he’s been tackled / the song has moved on).

Funny that is replacement didn’t have a great game either today - but crucially he contributed by scoring the winning goal! When has he ever done that.

You know you've become the ultimate scapegoat when you don't play and City win and there's still a steady stream of people having a pop at you.

Oh and by the his goals per minutes at City is way more than double that of Marc's so I'm not sure that's a stick you can beat him with!

I find it baffling that despite not playing, and despite Maddison playing as bad as Ayoze ever has, people still want to bitch about Perez.

Rodgers persisting with Perez is weird.   Generally, Rodgers makes good decisions;. If I question Rodgers, I have to question my own thinking too.  But with Perez I don't get it.  I hate players being scapegoated on here and don't want to be part of a lynch mob.

However, a lot of people give considered opinions about this player.  The stats suggest we have a right sides forward player who defends well while contributing little offensively.  How is this good enough for a progressive top 5 side?   He seems off balance much of the time.  He sometimes has the vision to see a pass but lacks the precision to execute it.

On the day of the West Ham game, I had been talking to someone about his lack of balance leading to poor control.  Normally, this leads to losing possession;. On Monday it led to us playing with 10 men for most of the game.

There are several players, also not wingers, who I would rather see picked ahead of Perez:. Albrighton, Praet, Iheanacho, KDH to name four.  I fear Rodgers will carry on picking Perez and I will carry on moaning about it.

Exactly.

Maddison has been playing where Perez wants to, and has been absolutely embarrassing.

The bloke strolls around like he's a top player, but can't even control the ball.

Do you put on your best heels, drag your offspring out in a pushchair together with the other local Dads and sit in Costa and bitch about players?

But I would expect that - Perez is a forward and Albrighton is very clearly a midfielder

But Maddison has contributed a lot in his time here. Tangible contributions. The other bloke has not, other than a hattrick in a game we won 9-0 that turned into a free for all.

I'll give him the fact he's consistent, -ly 5/10 or worse every game. IMO, I've seen enough of him to know he's not good enough to deliver enough assists or goals for a starting spot in a top 10 side let alone top 6. And yes, Madders has also regressed to a similar level recently but at least you still have a little confidence he can conjure something up.

In fairness to the guy he's just clearly not a winger. I know he played there a bit for Newcastle but he's always looked a lot better playing centrally behind the striker.

2 goals and 1 assist last season - with 31 shots and just 13 on target. Having read through the thread, I know I'm not in the minority, but what does Brendan think this guy brings to the team?

I feel genuinely sorry for the lad - it can't be doing him any good getting slagged by the fans week in, week out, but the performances are just not up to scratch and haven't been for a long time. He would be a perfectly good squad player for us - making the occasional sub appearance - yet it seems like we're shifting players out of the door to accommodate bringing in a left winger to play second fiddle to Barnes? I love Rodgers, and think he's done a great job, but this is just baffling.

I saw Maswanhise has been fast-tracked to the U23s - can only hope Rodgers has seen something in him that means he'll be playing first team football before too long, because we really can't afford passengers in this side.

Selling Praet.. keeping Ayoze - great idea. not,

So far BR has done well with the team, and we've won the FA Cup when many of us thought we were fated not too. So we have to assume he knows what he's doing. I agree though, I don't understand why Praet was deemed persona non grata.

You do realise you need a buyer to be able to sell a player? One that will pay us what we want for a player and that will also pay the player at least the same, but probably more than they are currently on.
You can’t just click your finger and sell any player you want.

Those 18 shots off target as well will have all been blazed over the bar at an incredible trajectory. Perez has the rare ability to add by any means necessary thr required height to the ball from whatever distance just as long as it gets over the bar. Most will immediately think of the Chelsea away horror miss but his one in the last few seconds away at Palace from about 12 centimeters out was even worse.

he spent £30 million on him. That's it. If Perez was signed by Puel or another manager he would be out the door by now.

At least we can lose him this winter or next Summer, otherwise it'll be contract extension (god forbid) or free transfer the following year.
