For 30 million he’s at best am ok squad player. He shouldn’t be starting and shouldn’t be put out wide again. He’s clearly beat as a 10 and needs to be a impact sub. On his day he's a hell of a player. Maybe i didn't emphasise that enough. His problem has always been his inconsistencies. Sometimes he's awful and sometimes he's excellent like yesterday. Last year we barely saw anything that was remotely good from him but if he can return back to 19/20 form especially more centrally it'd be excellent. If he can stay injury free i reckon it will happen.
NewquayFox Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 I’m not his greatest fan but he certainly changed the game when he came on, so credit where credit is due… 3

Popular Post volpeazzurro Posted 18 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 18 October 2021 One swallow doesn't make a summer after a long winter but, as one of his biggest critics, I have to say I thought he played really well and was quite the catalyst when he came on. I think you could palpably feel the confidence coming back into the whole side and perhaps that just may have helped him also. Despite all I comment I always want him to do well and would never dream of booing him or any other players coming on, how counterproductive can you be! I can see value in him when played in that particular role but why oh why play him out on the right, he's not only poor there, we have better options. That's not his fault. Genuine good luck to him. 6
Wolfox Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 One swallow doesn’t make a summer Glad he did well and hope that he continues to do well (seems like a nice bloke too) His ‘body of work’ still leaves me incredibly frustrated! 1
Finnaldo Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 Thought he’s played much better this season, stand-outs being Napoli and Saturday. The red card may have actually lit a fire under him to get his head down and really give it everything. Glad he’s beginning to add something to an already fantastic front line! 2
Houdini Logic Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 (edited) Nice to see him run to the fans and without any of that cupping ear or pointing to his name on his shirt crap. He seems to have taken it on the chin. Fair play Edited 18 October 2021 by Houdini Logic 2

JonnyBoy Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 always criticise him but yesterday he was bang on fair play to him won us the game
Clever Fox Posted 18 October 2021 Posted 18 October 2021 I always thought of him as a good player just struggling to fit in. I think that has been Brendan's problem trying to find where to play him. So we'll have to wait and see how much he's learned from Saturdays game. That piece of inventiveness for Vardy's pass was just sublime, and the finish from Vardy equally as good. That's the level we need to be at in every game. Let's hope it continues. 2

Popular Post ScrumpyJack Posted 25 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 25 October 2021 I’ve been impressed recently with Perez and think that now we have a bit more attacking depth he could finally become a useful squad player. Not worth the transfer fee, but that’s hardly his fault. 10

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 25 October 2021 Posted 25 October 2021 There do seem to be signs of improvement with Perez. Whisper it quietly though because it might be total horse shit

Carl the Llama Posted 25 October 2021 Posted 25 October 2021 Oh shit are we allowed to like Perez now? Excellent. 4

Whisper it quietly though because it might be total horse shit ....the options ahead of him has doubled and has given him a freedom previously denied when just playing with one upfront!!! Having Nacho and Vardy or Daka ahead of him now allows him options with the movement and defenders now constrained in marshalling the potential threats from our attackers. He now can choose to go on his own or play in one of the strikers, as opposed to being forced to try and find Vardy or play the ball wide to Ricardo, to get around the back of the opposition. He seems to have had an injection and belief in the way we play and his role within the team. 1
MPH Posted 25 October 2021 Posted 25 October 2021 I think the role he has played recently- coming off the bench last 30 minutes or so he has been excellent at. I don’t feel he has the legs to pull defenders around the pitch as a starter to tire them out. That being said, he’s proved himself to be a valuable squad member last few games.

Mickyblueeyes Posted 25 October 2021 Posted 25 October 2021 I think Ayoze has been pretty decent this year so far. Is he going to be the new Kel and finally find his feet. 1 1

Foxxed Posted 9 December 2021 Posted 9 December 2021 We've lost only twice when Ayoze Perez has played more than 20 minutes this season. West Ham and Legia. 1
