My motm.

Same. Along with Schmeichel.

He seemed to show a level of intelligence and composure that others couldn't or not do as consistently.

Thought it was harsh for him to be hauled off for James (useless sub).

I agree unless there's a reason we're unaware of. I'd have taken Tielemans off who was blowing, had a poor match for me and a liability at times.

I'm genuinely jealous of this guy! I play football weekly and the way this guy makes it look soooo easy on the ball when receiving, turning and playing it is incredible. (To be fair, Maddison is also in this category too). An absolute rolls-royce of a player!

I believe he signed a 5 year deal with us, and I feel he will go on to be a big player over that time, as both Maddison and Tielemans I expect will move on at some point. Praet for me is already quite good, but I think with experience he will just get better and better. Adjusting from Serie A to the Premier League is tough, as is adjusting to a new system under Brendan, plus he's not starting every game. But the raw ingredients, IE the technical quality and decision making is there, and that will take him far. For me he is what I was expecting from Adrien Silva, a classy and composed all round player.

I'm a big fan!

Also wins his fair share of tackles too!

Exactly, he is an all round midfielder.

If I was going to be critical, I would say that he doesn't attack the box enough and his finishing lacks composure, thought today he was asked to be the deepest of the three so I don't base that on today's performance. The other is that he doesn't have the confidence / audacity to "run the game." Maddison and Tielemans can do it, though they are inconsistent. By running the game, I mean dictate the flow and pace of the game, like players like Fabregas, Scholes, KDB and David Silva have been able to do over the years. Honestly to be able to do it consistently is very tough and very few players can do it. It's for me one of the reasons why the England national team has always been lackluster - we've never had that sort of player that runs the show so it's the opponents that dictate the flow, hence losses to Belgium and Croatia at the World Cup. Such a player needs to be vocal and a leader and confident in their own ability. Dennis strikes me as a bit of a shrinking violet, but this could easily change in the future.

It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few seasons because he has the technical skills and decision making to get to somewhere near that level IMO. Man City are still the best possession based team in the league in terms of a continental playing style and Praet held his own and stood out in some fine company. That bodes well for the future I think. It;s worth noting that players like Wijnaldum and Fabinho started slowly under Klopp before becoming indispensable to Liverpool, so when playign system football, it can take time to really "get it."

I think Maddison is great but he’s often ineffective in games where we have less of the ball. His tackling stats are surprisingly good but he’s obviously much better attacking than he is without the ball. Ndidi is obviously a better ball winner, Tielemans and Maddison are better creators but Praet is the most well rounded and I think that’s hard to argue against

Although Leicester did not get anything out of the game, Praet looked impressive. The Belgian maintained a stunning 100% passing accuracy, completed 100% of his attempted dribbles, won three ground duels and made three interceptions. (SofaScore)

Rodgers turned to summer signing Dennis Praet and the Belgian repaid the faith with a fine performance. The Foxes boss hailed his display against the Champions despite not naturally being a defensive midfielder.

He said: "I thought he was outstanding in the game. Every time he’s played, he’s been good or he’s been excellent. He always gives something to the team. He’s not naturally a defensive midfielder, but he has the discipline. He tracked runners and filled the space. On the ball, he was very good too."

He tracked runners and filled space. Damned with faint praise, somewhat

I like the dude. I just think he needs to find his niche within the team and get a run. Tbh, I'd have him.ahead of Tielemans right now

You mean he’s not a specialist at anything? Doesn’t create or score, and tends to stick of mainly safe passing which is good for his stats I guess.

He's been everything that was described to us before we signed him. Consistently good.

An old school center mid in many ways, does everything well. Comfortable in most areas of the pitch. I still feel that our most balanced midfield is the diamond with JM, YT WN and him. Id like to see more games with this lineup. But the issue remains that against certain teams this formation just wont work.

I agree to some extent. He’s scored one and made a decent assist (albeit I think Mishit) but otherwise what does he do?

Hard to fathom why Praet was substituted against Man City. Maybe Tielemans' 40 million price tag is influencing Rodgers' decisions. Praet's performances against Man City and in other games when called upon have been impressive.

He was far superior to Tielemans on Saturday but the massive hype surrounding Youri works in his favour. in addition Praet has been used on the wing which does him no favours.

Also we have lost 5 of the 9 games that Praet has started.

Ideally I would like to have a European pace sewn up early and have Praet start instead of Tielemans but it could go down to the wire. At least he should get the nod on FA Cup duty.
