The ‘Media Trying To Sell Our Players Again’ Thread

Starting to warm to the idea of Liverpool winning the league, at least they aren't after half our bloody squad.

Just the top 6 trying to unsettle us. Times have changed all players are available but unfortunately for them we are not now a selling club. We only sell on our terms.

Personally I don't see any of our players pushing for a move for a while which is the only way we'll sell our best players. Right now we have a team of players that a quite balanced in ability. Outside of Vardy, who is never leaving, and Ricardo, who I am most worried about, all of our players are on a similar skill level so shouldn't feel the need to move on to find teammates on their level. 

 

Look at when we won the league for example. All of the players were exceptional at fulfilling their role in the squad but outside of Mahrez, Kante and Vardy, they were all fairly average players. It's quite understandable that they'd want to move on when you're trading off Marc Albrighton for Eden Hazard (sorry Marc). 

 

The current squad is so different. I think if we were to rank our starting 11 by how good the players are, most people would disagree because there is so little difference between the players. For example, my top 5 would be Vardy, Pereira, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison but many if not most will disagree with that. The main player that people talk about leaving is Maddison but he's somewhere around our 5th best player so why should he feel he has to move on? If we restarted the season and put Maddison in Man U's team and Praet in ours, I still think we'd be ahead of them. Maybe he wants a payrise but I'm sure Top will be ambitious enough to increase the wage bill over time as the champions league money comes in. 

 

Right now other than Liverpool and Man City, there is no better team to play for in the Premier League than Leicester City with the squad we've got, the manager, the owner, the staff, everything is perfect. I thought the title win was going to be the peak of our clubs achievements but what is happening right now has the potential to blow it out of the water and the players and staff will know it! If they stick together, I really do believe they could win big trophies in the coming years.

This isn't the SPL where Celtic just went out and bought Dundee United's best players in January one year when they were threatening.

 

We're a credible top 4 contender and we will not be selling our players under any circumstances. Why would they want to leave?

 

Sky just rolling out their bi annual transfer window merry go round. They're beyond parody these days and best avoided and ignored.

Lets be honest a few years back we were losing players to the likes of Wolves, WBA, Sheff Utd etc

Surely we should be linked with the better players of minnows like Arsenal, Man Utd & Spurs.

Nobody will go in January if we don't want them to. Our own profile is being raised and the people we can attract will reflect it. Mads, youri, Ricardo and even brendon we are on the up .

typical Pep really - spent his January a couple of years ago unsettling Mahrez, who's performances tanked as a result (when he did show up that is), now doing the same with Cags and Evans. 

 

He must be pretty worried about finishing below us!

This type of speculation pisses me off. How can it be right that clubs through the media can destabilize our bid for the title again. 

Clubs should not be allowed to comment on other Club's players during the course of the season. 

It's time the league or FA acted.

Surely we should be used to this by now, no club in world football is immune to this type of speculation for their players so no point getting annoyed by it.

I think that's the insecurities of being a historically smaller club.

 

The bigger clubs have larger number of supporters. They all want to hear that they're going to be signing the current best players in the world. Right now we have some of the current best players in the world and so the media are writing stories to pander to those fans.
