It's all relative right? How long have Spurs fans had to hear about Kane, Eriksen, etc moving to other clubs. Man Utd to lose Rashford, Pogba etc. Salah/Sane to PSG/Real Madrid. Even Ronaldo left Madrid!

 

There's probably only 2 or 3 clubs in world football that don't have this problem. 

 

What we do have to keep doing is, sign young, hungry and smart players that fit our system and philosophy, before we need them (Justin > Ricardo / Praet > Maddision / Soyuncu > Maguire etc), sign them onto decent and long term deals to preserve their value and only sell them on our terms and for massive profit.

 

If we can maintain that cycle then we can hope to keep progressing. The risk is when/if that cycle gets disrupted - either by too many departures in a short period or if replacements don't come to fruition.

The bigger clubs have larger number of supporters. They all want to hear that they're going to be signing the current best players in the world. Right now we have some of the current best players in the world and so the media are writing stories to pander to those fans.

As a kid growing up in the MON era I had first taste of having to sell our best players when Heskey went to Liverpool. 

Obviously at the time we needed the cash injection as the Premier League was a different entity at the time.

 

But these days, due to no longer needing the money to help us to progress, it's genuinely annoying rather than worrying with all the media speculation as none of it takes into account where we are and how we're performing. 

 

If we take a look at Southampton and what's happened to them in the past 5 years after having talented player after player continuously ripped away that people can want your players, but if you choose to sell then be ready for what happens when you're just left with mediocrity. 

 

Whereas we've not gone down that route. We're choosing to keep as much as our young talent as we can, improving them at our club and making our entire team envied by the rest of the league as well as our manager. 

 

But it's not just the players that these clubs need to have. They really, deep down, desire our ownership. From Vichai to Top now, Rudkin and Whelan, we have probably the best board in the country. 

 

Leicester are literally the blueprint wanted by every club in the country bar Liverpool right now.

Its all reading a lot like Abu Dhabi FC are in full on play mind games mode with briefings from players associated with the club saying its a bad place and then potential interest in the back pairing. Like they are really interested in signing Evans, shake my jingle bells. Its only because they still have to play us twice over the remainder of the season and hope players will be flattered enough to get their brains melded to do a Mahrez and go on strike.

Notwithstanding Man City are about to be investigated can someone please correct me but are our players not under contract, meaning we do not have to sell?  This is just a ploy to unsettle a team that is gate crashing Sky’s Elite Band of Brothers.  Bunch of Merchant Bankers at Sky Sports Sources.

I think we are a much different club now. It’s not players ‘massively’ over performing like the title winning team, the quality is genuine and all around the team.  Maddison is looking around him and seeing Ricardo, Tielemans and Soyunucu.

I think Kante was just a bit of a turd who thought Chelsea being very rich elevated them to an elite status.

It drives fans nuts when you pick up a paper or read on the internet that this Leicester player is wanted by this club or that Leicester player is going to this club. they shouldn't say anything unless they know 100% a player is going somewhere, if it's speculation then don't print it only print it if it's actual fact. anyone can speculate about anything but at the end of the day it is cold hard facts that count. anything else is just b=8lsh7t.
