Time for Big Benkovic to step up to the plate, the way he's shaken off that injury against Wigan is a positive. Most had written him off as being done for the season haha.

What ever happened to our reported interest in that Solomon Kvirkvelia?.........👀

Buy him and bed him in/get him re-couperated for the summer training. Who knows, maybe with their mishandling of his previous injuries then this is the best time to buy and them to sell. In the meantime let's sort out Benkovic and put some serious thought into Morgan and Fuchs because I don't think we need both of them now.

I’m all for buying him, but let’s wait and see how bad the injury is first. We don’t want to fork out £40m plus on a centre back who would potentially fail a medical when worst case scenario a severe knee injury could put him out for twelve months! We’ve just got to be patient, the club is notoriously quiet for links to targets coming out!

Hmm so that’s Demiral on the treatment table and off our table.

I do wonder if we’ll head closer to home now for a CB.

Torn ACL & meniscus damage

Yikes that used to be a career ender, hope the lad is OK.

Don't think we could have got him and may well not ever get him now as an injury like that will be a concern, but that sucks for him as he had forced his way into the Juventus lineup ahead of De Ligt and was playing superbly. He deserved to be at the Euros for Turkey! Hopes he recovers and can play to his level in a short space of time.

Shame he’s injured which almost definitely puts this to bed until atleast the summer. On the positive side this has been the only genuine link we’ve had so far this window and shows we are looking at the right calibre, hopefully we’ve got a good plan B.

Bad news. Tarkowski rumours to start in 3...2....1...go

Good shout. Also unsettling noises, before we play Burnley at the weekend, would go down well

Horrible timing for the lad as he had just broke through in the Juventus team ahead of De Ligt and started the previous six games.

Maybe we'll go back in for him in the summer or next January if De Ligt does well and solidifies his spot?

Torn ACL's take at least 9 months to recover from. Not 6 months.

Cheaper and cheaper. 9 months is nothing at his age.

Another tinpot small club receiving swift karma for not bowing down and selling up to the LCFC big dogs.

Get well soon though Merih.

Leicester off Demiral chase

Brendan Rodgers is targeting the signing of a centre-half on loan this month, after abandoning his pursuit of Juventus defender Merih Demiral.

Turkey international Demiral will miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury sustained in the game against Roma on Sunday, but it is understood Leicester had already moved onto other targets weeks ago.

Rodgers is keen to bring in a defender on loan for the remainder of the season, with his top targets then to be reassessed in the summer when clubs are more open to selling.

Leicester’s hunt for a new defender could prove crucial to the short-term future of Croatia international Filip Benkovic, who is wanted by Championship club Derby County.

Nampalys Mendy, Andy King and Bartosz Kapustka may also be loaned out, but Ghana international Daniel Amartey’s hopes of finding a new club have been damaged by an ankle injury.

I hope we don’t come to regret letting Mendy go...

Bad news regarding Demiral hope the lad recovers swiftly and gets back to form, trouble is he was an almost done deal so where does that leave us on the rumour front as it’s been really slow on the rumour  front this year now hoping we can still bring in a bit of quality ?

Juve fans think De Ligt is some sort of witch. First Chellini, now Demiral and they are also really moaning about having to rely on Rugani.

Can't help but feel like any prospective loan player won't be that enamoured to come and sit on our bench for 5 months and then be back at their parent club in the summer. Might as well stay there in the first place or look for a club intending to bring them in long term or at least as first choice in the short term. Odd from us this is.

Very little being said about our criminal lack of goals from out wide which is more important for our season than a 4th or 5th choice centre half.

Anything said about whether this injury massively reduce our chances of signing Rugani now too as well as this fella?

wouldnt it be smarter to buy him now his price has dropped, i dont think juve was selling him b4 the injury but they might listen now...

Marc Overmars, Alan Shearer, Roy Keane, Xavi, Lahm, van Bronckhorst and Ruud Van Nistelrooy did really well after their acl injuries.

Also not football, NFL, but Adrian Peterson is worth considering, tore his ACL & MCL, next season came back and had the best season of his career... some players come back even stronger while for others they regress, it really depends on the doctor and player in acl cases

we might not have a chance to buy a cb with his potential, its a risk but if it pans out we have an elite cb pairing next year

Its extremely radical but I like the idea a lot

MEDICAL OVER.
