AjcW Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Their last year in that ground! We are very lucky. Would love to go
The Syrup Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Last time we played them was 27 years ago apparently. we won 3-1

The treble remains on, Was hoping some other big teams would meet each other. A couple all Prem ties, meaning a maximum of 10 top sides in the last 16.

We'll win 2-0 You probably will (at least) I suspect, but we are not aiming for the playoffs Suspect we will mix first team and some of the B team players that beat Stoke.

Dan Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 This is simply the best FA Cup draw I can remember us getting. FINALLY.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 We have played Brentford 20 times. The most common result is an away win (9).

Get in, was worried about this being moved until I saw this. Absolutely no way they can put us on a Friday or Sunday slot now, especially when those two games you mentioned are both televised themselves.
Dahnsouff Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Used to work in Brentford, and The Griffin and The Beehive used to be grand. Not sure which is away friendly mind.

Stuntman_Mike Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 This serves me right for doing the 92 for neutral games. That Brentford v Walsall tie was a complete waste of time in 2016

Seeing as I bought Villa away tickets yesterday, these won't be too long in being released once the two clubs have agreed price/allocation. Looking forward to this one, is there really a boozer on every corner of the ground and can we go in? I never went last time in 93.

StriderHiryu Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Great draw! They are a good team who play good stuff but our difference in quality should get us through you’d think. This is likely to be a high quality game regardless of the teams both sides put out, and probably picked as a TV game. Think this could be a good old fashioned FA Cup classic!
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Tricky draw but it will be a good test and they will be up for it. No stand out ties in the rest of the draw but there are a number similar to ours in that Premier League sides have "banana skin" matches.

Might be able to take them off your hands bud... if you wanna sell drop me a DM nearer the time
RonnieTodger Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 That’s a brilliant but tricky draw. Surely on TV too, can’t see 5 games better than that one.
StanSP Posted 6 January 2020 Author Posted 6 January 2020 It's likely they'll go full strength as well - they have no games midweek immediately before or after this game so there's no reason why they would rest players.
murphy Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 Tricky one. We will need the first team for this. I would prefer a bottom quarter PL team that is used to losing a lot rather than a top quarter Championship team that is used to winning most weeks. I don't imagine they have a big squad and hopefully they will want to focus on promotion and play a few reserves.

brucey Posted 6 January 2020 Posted 6 January 2020 This is sandwiched in between two other arguably more important games for us. If they are bringing their strongest team and we make as many changes as we have recently, we will struggle.
