Burnley post match therapy thread

Defensively we couldn't cope with them putting balls in the box with their physicality, we couldn't break with the ball because we're too slow, our finishing isn't good, let's hope Liverpool win

With any luck we'll never see Mendy play for us again.

Absolute disaster.

Really? Thought he was fine. Prefer him to Hamza there personally.

It is what leicester do best, shoot ourselves in the foot!!!  Just remember we are back to normal now!  The beginning of the season was just a dream...reality has now bitten!

Rubbish. Need to stop playing perez out wide. Buy a winger. Lost to a crap side there. As soon as they started kicking us we bottled it. Not sure the manager knows his best formation either.

Says it all for me that their keeper was man of the match. That’s a game we should’ve never lost but sloppy defending has cost us. We had more than enough chances to win that game by 3.

Desperately need a shit win from somewhere and quick.

No fight, no leadership and perhaps most worryingly of all no quality.

Rubbish, yet again.  Worrying times but I suppose that depends on what you want from this season. Luckily I suppose Liverpool should Stop United gaining ground but with the fixtures we have coming up, if we don't improve I see a lot of defeats coming up and the top 4 lead all but wiped out over the next 6 games or so.

I know we are third and fnas saying we should be happy with that and thats fine.  What's not fine is the rot that's set in with seemingly no answers to turn it around and also so far, nothing going on in the transfer market to freshen it up.  Just difficult to see what the long term plan is when it's plain to see we've been rubbish for 6 weeks or so.

Things aren't going to plan recently but if you're going through a whole season you have to expect poor runs.

I know a lot of use this forum to vent but we're bloody third! THIRD!

Go and contemplate that for a bit as a bit of self help!

Can see us getting rolled over by West Ham, glad I've booked the next day off just in case I need to get bladdered afterwards if we put in yet another trash performance and lose.

He was tidy, but had very little impact.  His stats today would be poor, I didn't see him really have any authority on the game

Losing the lead 2 weeks running to bottom half sides is unacceptable really. At least Southampton played decent football, though. Burnley are anti football, just awful to watch. Was really hoping they might go down this season but we've given them a nice bonus there. They didn't deserve to win, though. They've scored from a mistake and a corner and we've missed a hatful of chances.

Remember being surprised at Schmeichel's defiant response in the post match interview when asked about our title chances after the Liverpool loss.

I think to most fans the title was never on.

To the players it probably was. They're competitive sportsmen.

Similar to our form the season after winning the league, it feels like we're struggling to motivate ourselves with 'nothing' to play for.

In terms of today, if Vardy was on form we'd have won. In his pre Christmas form he'd have scored a hat trick there. Sloppy touches, poor penalty and just all round loose play. Obviously a hero for us but I don't like the timing. I don't give a fvck if your wife has popped out a screaming, sh*tting child. Concentrate on your football.

Sorry but that's a 0/10 performance from Vardy. He didn't even press effectively. Misses a pen and blasts a good chance straight at the keeper. He cost us the game with that miss.

I’m in the minority here but I found it a very open and entertaining game that we should have won but didn’t because we missed the penalty.

Burnley played exactly as we thought they would and no surprise Wood got his goal.
But we had loads of chances and it could have gone either way.

The penalty miss was the key I’m afraid

Positive first half, followed by a clueless second half. Just couldn't find a way past a really defensive Burnley team, who to be fair weren't exactly the strongest opposition we've faced. Should have won comfortable but didn't. Think the changes were left too late.

Oh but it was an off day they all said, 8 days between games they’ll sort it they said.
Just as insipid a performance as last time out.
