Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Some will say the thread criticism is OTT, but in all honesty, we were extremely poor indeed and deserved to lose in the end. We have no leaders out there at the moment and no fight seemingly to win the 50:50s etc. We are now being bullied by almost every team. I am genuinely baffled by the downturn. Yes Ndidi is out but it was happening before then.
SMX11 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Disastrous result, they need to up their standards again are else we are going to fall like a stone.
Jonezy Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 We were not great, but should have won easily. Missed a bucket load of chances including a pen. They got a goal from a set piece and a lucky bounce. Shit happens, but a sharp Vardy and we would have got 3 points. Our play out of pressure is awful and we are so sloppy with our finishing. That can come back and bite you against a bunch of fighters and it did today. Brendan needs to show us how good he really is now.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Shocking display again. At least Vs Southampton you could say the opposition played well. Burnley today were ****ing wank. They pumped ball in twice and it paid off twice due to poor defending again. Kasper is a major weak point for us defending any high balls. The opposition know he won't claim the ball, at best he'll flap and punch it. Often goals scored in and around the six yard box following a set piece. We are awful at penalties. Sure I read something saying we have the biggest miss percentage in the premier league. Amount of pens we've missed since returning to premier is ridiculous. Vardys one today was shite. Barnes was decent today, that was about it. Teams look like they want it more than us nowadays. We look uninspiring and disinterested at times. No idea how Brendan can fix it. He's tried resting players but it hasn't worked. We looked equally shit playing Mendy/Choudhury/Tielmans/Chilwell/Fuchs. Good that we have a big top four lead. I'm concerned we'll focus so much on the cups our league form might spiral tho. We look desperate for reinforcements now
ForeverandEver Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Just shows how much we missed Wilf today & just how important he is to us. Onwards !

tickler28 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 We're just not as good as people thought we were...our league position flatters us.....think well soon be out of top 4.
Sir Shep Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Yes we are third, and that’s brilliant, but having seen what we are capable of it’s so disappointing to see how gash we have become. We just seem so lacklustre and when we do get some omph we seem to turn into show ponies. West Ham next, can’t recall us playing well against them at home, crowd will be booing as usual, can’t see anything more than a point I’m afraid.
LaCiudad Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Arrogant attitude... Think we're better than we are. All talk pre game was how much better we are than the opposition. Same as Villa and Southampton games.
Chester Dontlie Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 We are at a danger of becoming Spuds... just bottling it against absolute rubbish teams Some of our players look like drunk or drugged. So many are out of form recently one wonders what's the issue. There's a worrying lack of urgency and agression in our play. It's great that Chelski lost yesterday, but our manner of losing was far worse than theirs.

NaijaFox Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Perez needs to be sitting down really. He always seem about to do something great, but in reality uses up 60+ minutes falling about and doing little else.
Blanchflower78 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Feel for the players and manager. Season just slipping away now and noone seems to know how to stop it or why it's happening. Top 6 still a great achievement but to be playing so well and even considered a title threat up until first week of December it's been a huge drop in form. Dont buy fatigue or lack of depth, these players had got them there in first place. We seem to have become completely perplexed by any side that sits deep (worse than Puel era) and either high press (ala City and Pool) or tenacity (Norwich/villa/saints/burnley) are too much too cope with over 90 odd minutes. Fans at each others threats, problems of it at home to saints and hearing today there were issues again. Delusions of grandeur, perhaps yes but all in all a massive wake up call to the whole club.

jayfox26 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Are we still not allowed to be negative? Should we still be happy cos we are 3rd in the league? We need to be honest and accept we are in serious trouble right now. A different kind of trouble as it's not a relegation trouble, which is great to know we aren't in that battle, but we are at risk of blowing any chances of getting champions league. Weve gone from being amazing for the first few months of the season to being awful with the exception of Newcastle and west Ham. I don't accept the tiredness argument as the likes of Burnley and Southampton also don't have big squads to deal with. Yes weve had the league cup games but Its not an excuse. Key players not at it including Vardy and Madders and weve completely gifted Burnley 3 points. They've barely created a chance and we have just given them 2 goals. Yes we could do with 1 or 2 new signings but if we cant do that then Brendan needs to sort stuff out soon. United,Chelsea, wolves will all keep picking up points in the 2nd half of the season and on current form, i dont see where our next win is. Ndidi isn't the reason either, yes hes a loss but we cant just blame his injury on our dross performances.
Dahnsouff Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Ah well. West Ham next. The only people not getting a rest is the defence. It is overdue. Maddison needs to read less papers/social media. He had the perfect chance to lay it off and tried a showboating shot Oh, and man up James.
Le Renard Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Doubts have crept into the players minds and you can see they don't have the confidence to break the press(except Ricardo), it is now up to Rodgers to find the solution and quickly if we are to get top 4. If not we are going on a European journey to some unknow town in Romania/Bulgaria!!

Guest ttfn Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 We’re carrying 4-5 passengers every game at the moment and with no Ndidi and even Ricardo and Vardy our of form it is genuinely hard to see where the next win is coming from. To salvage the last few weeks we needed a minimum of 4 points from Burnley and West Ham and to progress in at least one of the cups. Losing to Burnley in the form they’re in is a shocking result for any side let alone be with European aspirations. 7 points from the last 7 in the league. Yes we’ve played Man City and Liverpool but all of the other 5 sides are in the bottom half.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 We should make re-signing Paul Gallagher an absolute priority in this transfer window.
Fox85 Posted 19 January 2020 Posted 19 January 2020 Due to us failing in this transfer market and knowing full well we do not have the experience and players to take us to the next level, we need to accept that we may not even finish top 6. We obviously have no ambition to finish in the top 4. Losing to Southampton and burnley is unacceptable they are dog shit teams but credit to them they made us look worse
