It relates to our club and the rest of this season otherwise I wouldn’t have put it in here.

My comment was more aimed at the fact that us ‘mere mortals’ don’t get tested even when showing symptoms but it seems out of less than 600 celebs quite a few celebs / people with money have been diagnosed

I also come into contact with a massive amount of people through work. 111 just told me to self isolate. You would think they would want to confirm one way or the other so they could trace back if necessary. Piss poor. Judging by last night’s press conference they appear to have moved on from trying to test everyone showing symptoms (if that was ever the case) and track down contacts. You only get a test now if symptoms become more acute and you may require hospitalisation.

Harsh on the teams in the play offs but can’t help but feel relegating anyone with games left is worse. That's not a bad idea at all.

But have now decided it impossible to contain, hence the move from the containment phase of the plan to the delay phase. They have now realised most people will get the virus and are focusing efforts on deal with people who are at high risk and in need of specialist care. Testing everyone is a waste of resources as it can't be contained. They just want to smooth the profile to enable the NHS to cope.
NaijaFox Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 If the decision later this morning is to shelve the rest of the season, then it would perhaps be best to promote the top 2 teams in each division with NO relegations. Next season, 4 teams will be relegated and 2 automatically promoted (with perhaps, for instance, the next top 2 clubs in the Championship engaged in a playoff with the next 2 lowest-placed clubs in the EPL). After that (and perhaps a rescheduled Euro Championships in the summer of 2021), normality resumes - until the wacky WC interruption of 2022.
coolhandfox Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 No way are they going to void the league at this point. It would take a month or so without games for them to consider that.
Lesta2014 Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Hopefully with high profile cases rising they will now take action! Yes the footballers should be okay after it but they need to self isolate to prevent passing it on. Father teds post is seriously wrong!
Nick Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 It’s gonna be crazy. They will end up having to suspend this week or next, then six weeks down the line probably scrap the season. You’ll know if that’s their intention because the only games they’ll allow to go ahead will be those with games in hand. Once they’ve all played say 32 games or whatever it’ll be done. That’s my guess.

This isn’t flu, it’s a highly contagious lung disease with a 100x higher death rate than flu. In Italy of all resolves cases 55% have survived and 45% have died. People like you with this attitude will be highly accountable for a large number of deaths. This is the reality. Figures from chief medical officer on TV said 80% of population will get infected (48 m) and 1% will die, with a much higher percentage in the elderly. Numbers are truly scary.
Scotch Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Most of us will get it, the government know this. What's important is that A, we dont all get it at the same time and B, we protect our vulnerable as they are more at risk for this being fatal.

The genie is long gone now - two weeks ago they would have been all over you like a rash but it’s everywhere now .... and the moron who posted that he’s ‘with boris’ obviously didn’t listen to the press conference yesterday or is incapable of understanding English and pictures ... thoughts with all of you who have high risk dependants ......... v stressful times .........

If you've come in contact with massive amount of people you couldn't pin point it anyway. They can test around 2000 a day not sure why you think you should be one of them. Self isolate and follow the guidelines you don't need to k ow if you definitely have it. All being well you will fight it off in a week.
foxinsocks Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Yesterday the ceo of bt said he was t feeking well so he took the test and was confirned positive ..... how was he able to get such a quick test and result? Money? To whom? Surely our three guys need to take a test and if positive our squad needs to self isolate. Yesterday the papers were looking at ganes behind closed doors... today we are looking st quarantined squads It's time to suspend the whole thing for a month. The epl clubs are meeting today ( will they keep 2m apart?).... expect a fudge

How can they manage the pure volume of people who have symptoms? Its Impossible,

Had we shut up shop several weeks ago we’d still be in the contain phase but there was never a doubt that we’d actually be able to contain it, so we are moving into the inevitable.

It amazes me to be fair, people on here think they can run The country better😂, the government ain’t stupid, yes people are going to die, no one can stop that, its a horrible situation, but these people at the top will make the right decision

Estimates suggest the reality is 10,000 In my humble non medical opinion the figure is a lot higher than 10,000. If it really is 10,000 which is such a low percentage of the UK population then it's a bit of a coincidence that the is 3 notable people with it (Arteta, Hudson Odi and the health minister). These people can facilitate testing the general public can't. Same in America with Tom Hanks and the Basketball player or the Canadian President. In my opinion loads more people have it or have had it with little or no symptoms which will be good news for the eventual mortality rate.
Vlad the Fox Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Would it be possible if players self isolate for two weeks, get tested and then if clear play behind closed doors with as little contact as possible, and isolate between matches with regular tests. Possibly play two matches a week.
foxinsocks Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 why have they not published a guide call: "how to care for someone with cv19 at home" ?
