He would be fine as a squad player and rotating in for cup/lower league games but if he's first choice for this season we really haven't addressed what we needed... Absolutely. We keep him around as he's a solid squad player, its not his fault we've struggled to recruit adequately enough to displace him. Think some have latched on to what you were saying and cherry picked bits to criticise even though they broadly agree with you. I for one would be disappointed not to see Marc in the 25 man squad. We are in need of a winger to start over him (and many others we played out wide last season), but with the number of games we have to play (potentially) this season we need hard working squad players who will give their all when needed, not mind it when they aren't, and not disrupt the team spirit.
