Yes. Also saw him in Criterion a couple of times.

Very sad. Stuck firmly to his beliefs championing the underdog in spite of some occasionally belittling comments. Sounds like he overcame a fair bit in his life.

Obviously benefitted from a number of horse get well cards a few years back.

Ouch. I think I knew him. This smarts.

Just saw a Facebook post stating the guy I'm sure was Rincewind had sadly passed away (met him once at the Leicester beer festival and fairly certain it's the same bloke).

RIP.

RIP Ken :(

Shit. :(

I have Ken on Facebook and can confirm from multiple posts on his page that this sadly seems to be true. He died suddenly this week, according to posts there - would've been aged late 60s, I think.

I didn't know him well but met him 3 times. Nice bloke with a social conscience (was doing voluntary work with the homeless a few years back, as I recall), liked his beer and his football.

He posted a few months back, saying he'd just started into Open University studies and then that he was moving flat, so clearly very active quite recently.

Sad news indeed.

I liked, and have missed, his quirky posts and his championing of the homeless and those on the edge of society. A man with a heart of gold for the underdog. He got some stick on here but he never gave up.

A sad loss for our community. And for FT.

RIP Ken. Seemed like a great bloke who never stopped championing his causes, and gave a lot of his time to others. Also was always looking to learn and improve despite his advanced years.

Oh man, that's a shame.  :(

He joined in with, and put up with, a lot in these forums.

He was a bloody good sport really.

RIP Ken, always came across a proper gent and was a great champion for homelessness. Very few people take up their own time for good causes in the way he did. A very good contributor who despite a lot of banter directed his way (some you could say got a bit out of hand at times) was never bitter or spiteful.

RIP Ken. :( Gone but not forgotten. Next time I have a beer I will raise a glass to you.
