They have spent so much already though, which teams do in the first season or so but then you need to make a profit on a few or stop spending and thats a danger for Villa. I suppose they know they've minimum £60m on Grealish if they get in trouble next season.

I think they have quite rich owners and no ffp this year. If they think 40 mil for benrahma and watkins will keep them up then theyll go for it, it's not like theyre a lost cause, the majority of their starting 11 is solid especially with mcginn back i think with these 2 theyll be well clear of relegation.

Lol that is our competiton for this guy? Seriously! we are not in that grouping anymore (sorry mass media) We are a top 4 club even though we just missed the mark this year by a hair. If I were this guy or his agent I'd be all over LCFC for a move. I do like his dribbling skills and desire to take on defenders also love to nut meg a lot. Not bad free kick specialist. Mahrez 2.0 dare I say?

😂 we are not a top 4 club. Sadly we will be competing with those clubs for players. Whoever Everton, West Ham, Wolves are interested in is who we’ll be interested in. We are a mid table side atm with aspirations of getting in the top 6.

Doesn't finishing 5th suggest we have reached those aspirations, it's a matter of sustaining this now.

Our form since xmas was dreadful especially the last 9 games winning 2. I agree we did brilliant upto xmas and then sides got used to how we play and had no plan b or fight if we went behind. We crumble under any sort of pressure.

Yep that's our challenge. European football every season. Missing out on the Champions League is disappointing, but barring a 15/16 style miracle we were never going to win it. Our aim now must be to cement ourselves as a club that qualifies for European football each year and that can go far in those competitions. This season will only be the 4th time we've got into Europe in the last 20 years, so we need to improve that number!

Once we can consistently do that for a few seasons, then perhaps we can push on again. But for as much as we'd like to get close to the teams that finished above us, don't forget about the many teams that are trying to do what we just did! Everton have Carlo Ancelotti even who has won the Champions League twice as a manager! The league is super competitive.

He's actually won it 3 times which is crazy, same number of CLs as a manager as Man United as a club.

On top of that he also won it several times as a player for the legendary AC Milan team of the 90's. Plus he won the Premier League in fantastic fashion with Chelsea, as well as winning the league with PSG and Bayern. Truly incredible credentials!

Dean Smith managed him for just 14 games. Of which only two leagues games he played over 80 minutes.

Yeah but he loves him

Palace :(

Zaha MUST be going, otherwise they're gonna be a dangerous team on to play against. Eze, Zaha and Benrhama behind Batshuayi....

Palace have a similar wage to turnover ratio as us - surely there must be someone on their way out to fund this.
