Sheffield Utd post match

Top 6 guaranteed, let’s get top four now. Tough ask but they responded tonight. Tielemans, Thomas phenomenal tonight, Morgan considering how long since he played was solid - stick him in the cryo chamber until Sunday 🦊💙

Given everything that’s gone on, that was a brilliant performance. We made a good side who are used to getting what they want look like a Championship side.

Barnes’s finishing was the only downside but he’s going to be a 15-20 goal a season player in a few years time.

Genuinely chuffed with that. We controlled it other than a 15 minutes period in the 2nd half. So many positives everywhere. Youri back to his best , Vardy excellent, Thomas so calm, Wilf a beast.

But I will pick out an unsung hero this evening in Ryan Bennett for a mention. The guy was solid as f**k all night.

He really was solid. Very insulting to him with some saying he's championship standard. Far from it. He's big, quicker than he looks and versatile.

Never in doubt really!

We showed a real grit and determination tonight that just didn't look like it was in the post. Against a well drilled and well organised Sheffield United team, we showed our class and limited them to very little. Our best restart performance without doubt, and probably the best since Villa away at the start of December.

Youri absolutely ran the show and looked every inch the 40 million pound player we signed. Outclassed his industrious but lacking in quality counterparts in the Sheffield United midfield.

If Barnes could finish, he'd be one of the top wingers in the league. Hopefully he'll be able to kick on beyond this season.

An excellent debut for Luke Thomas - I don't think he put a foot wrong in the entire game. But he didn't just do the basics, he showed great ambition and quality and was rewarded with an assist.

Even Bennett, who I and others have been critical of, grew into the game and looked comfortable and assured dealing with the physical threat of the Blades' strikers.

And a well-deserved honourable mention for legendary captain Wes Morgan. Didn't look like he'd been out of the first team for a minute, let alone the entire season.

Rodgers has rightfully received a bit of stick for our performances since Christmas and the appalling capitulation at Bournemouth. But he got it spot on tonight - the players were motivated and honestly rarely troubled. He made the right substitutions at the right times, and deserves a pat on the back for the result this evening. Let's hope we can see the job through over the next two games.

I'd almost lost all hope prior to this evening, but that little flame that burns at the pit of your stomach just keeps you coming back for more. The Champions League push is back on - never a boring moment supporting Leicester City!

I’ve seen some disgusting disrespect to Wes from opposition fans. Just cos he’s a ****ing tank don’t mean he ain’t class. Can’t remember him letting us down.

Fantastic team performance, really need to keep this up now for the last 2 games so we carry the momentum into next season. Win them both and the B'mouth game will just seem like a bad dream.

Unsung hero tonight was James Justin. Solid performance. I think Thomas coming in helped him. It’s like when you start a new job and you feel a bit out of place and useless because you don’t know anything and have to ask questions all the time then someone else new starts a bit after you and suddenly you feel like a boss showing them what to do and acting like you’re the man about the office. Night and day compared to the Bournemouth game. Youri was back on top form, very impressive debut from Thomas, Morgan & Bennett both came in and were solid at the back. Vardy settings up plenty of good chances too. Lovely stuff.

That all-but confirms us for Europa League, doesn't it?

Two big games coming up, now. Spurs still fighting for 6th place, and the Wolves-Chelsea game last week of the season whilst we play Utd could really shake things up. I'm not looking forward to watching that on the 26th...

Good performance today defence did very well spurs will be a different threat as they have speed up front so will be a tough game but play like tht and get an early goal or 2 then we should win. Favour from palace would be nicw 😂

I think we made them look poor as well tbf

Agreed. We pushed them back and played a lot higher ourselves much like the first half of the season. We dictated it from the start.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but Perez put in a big shift. Deserved his goal and non-stop harassing their defence (almost Shinji like).

Yeah, fair enough I guess but he needs a haircut so......

Wes was immense. Wild was ridiculous. He’s like Inspector Gadget with extendable  legs. Thimas amazing debut. Youri great. Vardy, selfless. It’s something to take heart from and build on. Two more good games. Come on!!

So much better today - I love Leicester again (I always did, but Bournemouth was testing the relationship).

Really good debut by Thomas - which is encouraging for next season.

Come on Palace.

He’s improved immensely on those awful performances after restart.
