Sheffield Utd post match

Recommended Posts

Given the injuries/suspensions, and off the back of the Sunday debacle, that was a big time performance which nobody should underestimate. Sheff Utd had loads to play for.

To a man they were outworked and we drained the spirit and legs out of them, which then allowed the extra quality to shine through.

Everyone was good, but Tielemans, Ndidi and Vardy were absolutely outstanding. That should put to bed the gassed at 60mins complaint about Youri. He outworked everyone and was still absolutely dictating the tempo of our play.

Thomas looked very assured too, love the way he uses the ball.

Delighted and releived, the lads were immense today, superb debut from Thomas, Vardy outstanding, wonderful to watch Wes roll back the years superbly, Justin had a terrific game and Bennett was immense at the back.

Brilliant!

Get in.

Textbook Leicester... just when you give up all hope, they show grit that you no longer thought they had in them and win like it was a pre-season friendly.

Europa group stage proper all but assured, which is great. If (big if) we win at Spurs then things get really interesting.

Great performance, each of them played brilliantly, I don't really think we had any bad perfomers.

Special metions to:

  • Tielemans - Bossed the game from start to finish
  • Vardy - Created the second goal wonderfully and could have had another assist had Barnes stayed onside
  • Gray - Came on and scored just when we were getting worried about killing the game off
  • Thomas - Great assist and never looked out of place at all. It's early days but if this is a sign of things to come we won't need to sign another LB as a backup to Chilwell, he's there ready to go in the cup games and the occasional league/European game.
  • Ndidi - Won the majority of things in the middle
  • Justin - Looks much more comfortable at this level than when he first came here

I think Barnes needs to work on his finishing, although he probably does already, but in order to become a great winger in this division he needs to score more. He genuinely could have had 15 goals this season, I just remember him shooting it straight at the keeper the majority of times.

Without doubt should've had a pen on the first once stonewall. Cant believe the ref missed that blatant push.
