Some players on there are way overpaid. How did sick note Adam Lallana secure himself a 3 tear contract on 90k a week.

Callum Hudson Odoi, Mason Mount, Reece James and Jared Bowen has done nothing to be on the contract they're on. Chelsea are giving stupid contracts to their younger players.

All start with Hudson-Odoi when they wanted to stop him leaving for Munich

Bowen is on nearly 100k a week. ****ing hell.

Starts to add up why we didn't go in for him. No way we offer that type of money.

If he was on 30K or so more at Liverpool than he's taken perhaps a 25% pay cut hasn't he. And he was on a free, wasn't he if I recall correctly. Still crackers but puts it in context a bit.

I'm interested to know where all these figures have come from.

There was an apparent leak of Sterling's wage slip last season. Saved it somewhere but would probably be breaking all sorts of laws to post it here, NI number an all.

Anyway according to that they get paid monthly. Raheems's rough Basic pay 700,000, loyalty 1,500,000 - net pay 1,100,000. Dated 2019

Likely fake, I don't know.

I can't believe that Bowen would have been able to command those wages coming from a good season in the Championship with Hull!?

If those figures are true then it is mental he's on 100k a week (about 60k too much for a player of his ability) but he had 3 good seasons with Hull, not just the one.

Football really is a great case study in why unregulated (/barely regulated) free market capitalism is a load of inefficient bollocks and you have to be either one of its obscenely wealthy beneficiaries or a naive cuck to unironically support it.

I'll pre-emptively add that this isn't an invitation to get your boot-licking tongues out and talk about communism being even worse, strangely enough there's more than 2 possible options and a whole spectrum of nuance between them.

Good morning guys.

Good morning guys.

Football as an industry doesn't really have consumer choice like almost every other industry though. Rampant neoliberalism has been a disaster but it's a bit apples and oranges.

But the football industry as it currently stands is a direct product of laissez-faire economics.  Be it the hyper-inflated transfer market, ticketing policies and matchday concessions, the plethora of TV and streaming subscriptions, absurd replica kit prices, wherever you look in the footballing world the invisible hand is supposedly hard at work.   If football's an apple, rampant neoliberalism's the apple tree that allowed it to grow.

Rugby League season starts traditionally February and can be playing internationals as late as November

Wilder probably stopped himself getting a job of any note with a bizarre diatribe this afternoon

I thought he came across, not for the first time, as a complete helmet. "Do-gooders and lefties" ****ing hell. Funny how when Mourinho digs his players out in public it's because he's an arse who's out of touch with the modern game but when plucky Brit Chris Wilder does it it's because he's a good honest bloke who SAYS IT HOW IT IS

Nonsense, this is what happens when demand far outstrips supply due to over promoted product. Or is that what you were getting at?
