Their next few fixtures are tough games, still to play man utd, Chelsea, spurs and everton. If they're still in it after that then you'd say so but I can't see it. Still massively reliant on grealish.

Nalis Posted 26 December 2020 Share Posted 26 December 2020 As funny as it would be to have Arsenal in a relegation battle, this is good for us as it keeps Chelsea behind us. If Newcastle somehow got something from Man City it would be a perfect day for Liverpool.

Finnegan Posted 26 December 2020 Share Posted 26 December 2020 This game in a nutshell is why I reckon Arteta will have a tidy career and Lamps is going to just be the new Tim Sherwood. Arsenal have such an unbelievably diabolical squad that a lot of the recent criticism has just seemed wildly unfair for a guy thrown in the deep end at the start of his career. It's seriously a championship squad with the odd one or two "top six" players in it. By contrast, Lampard has one of the most expensively assembled squads the league has ever seen and he's got no idea what the hell to do with it. Absolutely inept manager.

Corky Posted 26 December 2020 Share Posted 26 December 2020 I don't think Chelsea ever really saw Lampard as a long-term idea- he came in when they were selling Hazard and had a transfer ban so his first season could be excused. Now they've chucked an absolute fortune during a depressed market at the squad so if it doesn't go well, they have an excuse to bin a club legend whilst also having an exciting squad for a new, probably better qualified manager to take over.
Suzie the Fox Posted 26 December 2020 Share Posted 26 December 2020 Man City v Newcastle or Sheffield Utd v Everton. ... Think i will go with the Everton game and hope SU, can turn themselves around and get something from the game. Can't see Newcastle getting anything from their game.

You cannot deny we merit being in the conversation. I think anyone having a serious conversation is going to include us. For as long as Rodgers is here it looks like we're here to stay unless all of Tottenham, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd simultaneously get their shit together and leave us behind. Which won't happen. But there's just no market in fawning over Leicester City. What's the point in us being in the discussion? We've got a small, local fanbase. We don't really account for a high volume of clicks, likes, retweets or subscriptions. There's no incentive for either major broadcasters or online sources to dedicate all that much time talking up Leicester City. And that's before you get in to the "we don't want any more Leicester Citys" of it all. Increasingly, the majority of football fans are only really interested in hearing about their own team so any fuss made over us is largely just going to be for our benefit and we represent a minority of the market share. I know it's shit that that's how football media works these days but it is. Edited 26 December 2020 by Finnegan

Sarri was infintly better but got slandered from day one. Lampard has proven he can't organise a defence..I was fearful they would steamroll us and finish way ahead of us after the summer they had but they are too shambolic at the back to do anything serious.
