He was, but doesn’t warrant such a huge pay rise for half a good season.

No that’s true, but it’s the classic form temporary class is permanent.

what would you do?

Keep existing contract, and he potentially leave for less when his contract runs down by another year?

curious to know what you’d do?

You do wonder how much of what they do would be examined and criticised if we hadn't won the league and got free donuts and scarves.

So basically if they stopped doing a lot of the things that make our owners different from others?

KP aren't allowed to keep giving the club money to operate with anyway? They haven't done for years and any investments like the training ground are via loans. If their personal wealth take a hammering then eventually they might be forced to sell but they don't strike me as an operation that would just rinse us of our £180m turnover and then scarper.

The king power sponsorship on the shirts is laughable ....... how much did they spend per season ?   That’s a small example of how the owners could have (ffp allowable) injected a lot of cash into the club.  They chose not to - that’s their prerogative and you can’t argue that their approach hasn’t been successful. Other owners have pumped a lot more money in for a lot less in return so just spending cash isn’t always the answer.

Anyone else worry that Madders will go if Chilwell does?

If chilly stayed here forever then it would be a small reason for madders not to leave (as he inevitably will) .....but no, he won’t go now but will follow the career path set out by his people which will be next summer or the one that follows ....

add to that, madders will know that we will only sell one star per summer window and that it wouldn’t be him this summer - he will be happy to see his mate getting a chunkier pay rise than him knowing that Ben can pay for next summers post euros holiday !!

I just mean some smaller things like gold on the kit, plastering their brand everywhere, questionable loans etc. I'm not complaining at all, just merely saying i wonder how much moaning would be going on if they weren't the success they are.

And you are welcome to trust as you wish.

I'm also allowed to disagree or question things the club do. It is not healthy for the fans to just blindly follow.

The KP key business has and is taking an absolute hammering. Nobody knows the knock-on effect that this will have on us or the long term effect on them.

But so has the whole world, you honestly  think they haven't diversified their portfolio over the last 10 years?

They will have fingers in lots of pies!

Lots of rich people make more from national disasters!

Even if you remove the title win and say we finished 4th or 5th, they have put together a plan that has seen us finish top 5 twice within 5 seasons and no other club outside the big clubs has got anywhere near that. They've created a model and put together the staff that seems us recruit better than any other club around us, so much so we are constantly targeted by the very clubs we have embarrassed by winning the league and very nearly embarrassed again in finishing in the Champions League places.

I have no criticism of our owners, add in they genuinely care about our community and they are a credit to themselves and appreciate what they do. Their intent to build the best training facilities in Europe and to expand the stadium cannot be disregarded either, most of what they do just seems to make sense and we are very fortunate.

Shhh don’t let the KPFC and no gold on the kit lot hear you.
