The same report says excluding the players you’ve mentioned as well as young newcomers 👀 says fati and Puig but I guess Trincao also falls into that category

If they need to sell to buy, they are going to have to wait if the only players they want to sell are ones like Coutinho and Rakitic, imo. The only club that will want Dembele, for example, is likely to be Man United, but only if they can't get a deal done for Sancho, which they'll keep pushing for until it's just too late. And the appetite isn't there for those players to go to China for obvious reasons, possibly you can say the same about MLS too. Barca have got 4-5 weeks to prepare for the new season. If they want to get a player like Lautaro Martinez in before then, they'll need to raise money first. And to do that you have to sell the players where there is an obvious buyer waiting in the wings. I maintain that they will be more eager to sell players like Trincao after this. They can't go into the new season in 5 weeks time with the same group of players that have just been on the end of one of the most embarrassing results in their history (plus a few kids). They're not as Galactico focused as Real Madrid but the top Spanish clubs are hugely fan-orientated all the same. The player might fancy his chances of getting in their team. But any new manager is not going to be able to bin Suarez off, so Messi is still on that right wing. So how much is he going to play even in the best case scenario? 5

The thing with a club like Barcelona is they don't really have the opportunity to wait for a young squad to come good, unless they get instant success the managers don't fair well, they sacked Valverde in January when they were top of the league because they were doing crap in cup competitions, now Setien will be gone because they messed up the post covid break big time in the league and the manner of the Bayern defeat They have already binned off Arthur to Juve to get some cash towards FFP and then still decided they wanted a 30 year old Pjanic, I can see them wanting to add more superstars to the team to get them back into a position to challenge for competitions again
