We could just sit back and let West Ham find out the price before swooping in and snatching him.

Thing is Burnley have every right to set the asking price, just as we do when other clubs start sniffing around our players.

buying clubs of course have every right to laugh at their valuation and walk away, or pay the price if they are desperate to land their target. Much of what is put out to the media is simply a smokescreen to hide the serious negotiations and a way for all parties to say we did our best to strike the right deal. That and of course most of what is out there is simply bllx and click bait.

If we had Soyuncu, Evans, Fofana and Tarkowski, Benko isnt going to play much is he?

His persistent injuries would tend to suggest that he's not much good to anyone so why would Burnley cut a deal? Nobody with any sense would take him at the moment which is very sad for the lad because there's enough evidence to suggest there's a good player in there somewhere.

Yeh that is true. Is a shame, like you say he looks like he could have been a really good player. I think the long term plan when we signed him was him and Cags as our cb pairing which could have been really good had it not been for his injuries.

This is true to a degree when the "buying" club is a top 4 club with lots of money. To them it really (to a certain extent) doesn't matter if he's £35m or £50m if he is their target. The problem Burnley have is that we are the buying club and we cannot afford to "over pay" for a player no matter what really. We will turn our attention elsewhere and they could have a player now who really doesn't want to play for them and is pissed off that they didn't give him the chance to further his career......

That is unless Chelsea feel like having a punt! lol
