murphy Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 From the BBC website: MATCH FACTS Head-to-head West Ham's solitary victory in the past 11 Premier League meetings was by 2-0 at the King Power Stadium in May 2018 (D4, L6). The Foxes are unbeaten in the last four encounters (W2, D2), and won both matches last season. Leicester City Leicester are vying to win their opening four league games for the first time in their history. Their total of 12 goals after three matches is the highest by any team at this stage of a Premier League season since 2012. The Foxes are unbeaten in their past eight home league fixtures against London sides (W6, D2). Their most recent defeat came against Crystal Palace in February 2019 - a result which led to Claude Puel being sacked as manager. Jamie Vardy has scored 22 Premier League penalties since his top-flight debut in 2014, more than any other player during this period. Ayoze Perez was directly involved in four of Leicester's six league goals against West Ham last season, scoring two and assisting two more. West Ham United West Ham have only won four of their 23 away league games under David Moyes (D5, L14). They have lost eight of their past 11 Premier League away matches, with their only win in that spell being July's 4-0 victory at Norwich. The Hammers have kept just three clean sheets in the Premier League in 2020, fewer than any current top-flight side excluding the newly-promoted clubs. The last time they recorded consecutive clean sheets in the league was in a three-match sequence in August and September 2019. Michail Antonio can become the first Hammers player to score in five consecutive top-flight away matches since Mike Small in 1991. Antonio has scored West Ham's last six Premier League away goals, including four at Norwich in July.
HitchinFox Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 That line up is not what I expected, nor do I like it. However, I've now learnt not to question Brendan and his tactics until about the 60-70th minute, so will focus on nervously shouting at the TV. COYF!!

foxfanazer Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Praet is a bigger loss than Maddison today for me. Perez needs a big game 4

ALC Fox Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Perez is going to kill it in a central role... I hope. Gutted that Praet and Madders are both out though. Hopefully the Maddison omission is purely because of injury as the guy from the Merc says.
Finnegan Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Bit underwhelmed by the 343 but if neither Praet or Maddison are fit to start then I guess it's our best bet.

Foxes96 Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Wouldn’t have gone with 3atb personally, but given Madders and Praet are out don’t think we had much choice other than playing choudhury as our third CM instead of big Dan. still a decent team with Perez, Barnes and Vardy in attack, and if we’re struggling to break them down can always take Amartey off for Under and play either Perez or Iheanacho in the hole in a 4-2-3-1. Plenty of options still COYF.
LestaAl Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 I will be happy if we score lots of goals .....rule of six please

He's just signed a new contract and they've already got too many midfielders and no decent defenders. They're desperate for a right winger and won't even sign the CB they so badly need before the deadline. Why would they spend ~£100m on one of the only positions they're well-stocked in? 3
kyleolly Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 None of you trust Brendan at all what do you think they’ve been doing all week I’d say working on this formation and it looking good
Facecloth Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 If we're heading towards playing a 343 long term, which isn't a terrible formation, then we're gonna have a lot of midfielders not getting much game time.

Fox seen in Norwich Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 5atb at home to whu ???? Say what! could it be 433 with mendy and amartey Behind Tielemans kasper castagnr, soy, Evans, jj amartey, mendy Pérez, Tielemans, barnes vardy
HighPeakFox Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 We like having a plan B but ONLY WHEN WE SAY SO. Just kidding - understand the slight concern, but it looks like the loss of crucial midfield personnel has driven the formation today, and it would appear big Dan has been rewarded rather than dropping Hamza in. Here's hoping. 1
Silva Fox Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 Doesn't Perez have a good scoring record against these?
Guest Danny Clender Posted 4 October 2020 Posted 4 October 2020 (edited) If we intend to play a similar game to last week, I expect to see the wonderful sight of Leicester and West Ham players all staring at the ball, maybe even passing it to each other? With no Praet nor Maddison, the selection makes sense. Edited 4 October 2020 by Danny Clender
