Arsenal v Leicester pre-match

Recommended Posts

Although the season so far and most of 2020 has been as weird as hell, thrown up some very random results, our 5-2 v Man City and Villa 7- 2 Liverpool to name a couple.  I'm not sure even this is all weird enough for me to consider us getting a win away at Arsenal.

As ever, I'll hope I'm wrong.

I just think think the injuries are gonna be too much for us. Lost to a poor Aston Villa so going to a place where we hardly ever win is a tough ask. Need our main men back asap

It seems to be the season of strange results so far though so you never know

 The big question

are we going to press high ?

high stakes, high rewards .........

if vardy plays we have a chance of making it work .......... if he doesn’t then I expect they will play through any press we try - I can’t see brendan abandoning a press against a team that challenges you to do it.   He dropped it at Man City because he knew Edison was able to ping a pass and take out half your side - it worked for us as we were rarely exposed.

How much will we be disadvantaged tonight by not having our 3 long term injured players available?

Ricardo - Castagne

Cags - Fofana

Wilf - Mendy

Probably not that much, I'd suggest.

Well, we certainly recruited well this summer to replace them. Let’s pray for no more injuries, else we’re really in the poo

I think our players at the very top level are Ricardo, Caglar, N'didi, Tielemans and Vardy.

Fofana and Barnes could get there.

We have many other good players in the squad but of course we are disadvantaged by injuries to the majority of our top players.  We will still put out a strong team.

Ricky is better than Tim.  (And I think he will always be - he’s elite)
cags is better than little wes  (At the moment)

wilf is a lot better than papy

id suggest quite a lot

add to that madders can’t be match fit yet and vards won’t be match sharp

just playing devil’s advocate.......

Start strong. Most games this season it's been a bit slow and we've paid the price. Start strong against a side like this, let the confidence flow through from the first whistle. No dallying around and get in to them. Arsenal sides hates getting pressured and like the time on the ball.

Would always pick a fit Wilf before Mendy, no question, but he's done a job for us so far.

Our biggest problem is the loss of Chilwell. Justin will get targeted again tonight down that left side which may prove to be key.
