Meanwhile, I came in here to post about a weird experience I had today, and this partly explains why.
I went into the shops on the way home from work, just grabbed the usual bread, milk some chocolate etc. 2 bags of shopping, the Mrs text asking for one more item, so I popped back in the store - must have been in there 5 minutes max and someone’s opened my boot and grabbed the shopping bags!
For the record, I did not lock the car my fault! It was about $60 worth of groceries and nothing flash or anything. I’m not pissed off with the person at all really, the saw a chance and took it. For me $60 really isn’t worth getting upset about - and hopefully the person who’s grabbed it, has gone home and fed their kids and been able to give them a bit of chocolate, maybe a treat they haven’t had for a while.

I am pissed off with the energy suppliers, the supermarkets, the other major retailers who are maximising profits and forcing people to grab what they can where they can. It’s getting beyond a joke some of the prices for absolute basics.

Good onya.. its unpleasant, but your attitude is the very best way to deal i think. Hopefully a family is having a better afternoon thanks to you :)

It is a little warm!  I am hoping its cooler tomorrow as I am off camping for the weekend at Lake Brockman!

Anybody else been perpetually ill this winter?

I'm currently on my 6th cold since the start of October! It feels like 2 weeks off 1 week on for me recently. I've always been prone to colds and get them quite severely but I've never had them anywhere like this frequently. I'm 30 by the way so I'd hope it's not my immune system giving up already.

You're not alone Broseph.

I think I have had maybe 2 weeks free of either a cold, cough or a sickness bug since around the end of October.

Growing up is realising teenagers all have daft ****ing haircuts these days. But then I remember growing up the fashion was to sweep your fringe down and then spike the back up, no idea why anybody ever thought that looked good.

I've had a couple of small ones. I do tend to catch them quite easily (like 4-5 a year) but I've tried to improve diet and habits in the last six months as well as taking vitamin supplements. I feel like I'm catching them less now but also when I do catch one it's a lot milder than before, like just a bit of congestion and thankfully only a day or two of a sore throat.

Stream froze at the start of the second half, so I’ve had a lovely kip and everyone here thinks I just upstairs watching the football.

Afternoon kips are brilliant.

Afternoon kips are the main reason I work for myself and mainly from home.

The last proper job I had I used to go down to my car after lunch to have a kip but then I'd be late/miss meetings so figured it was time to go solo.

Anyone got a recommendation for a lunch in central Brum, have a few hours to kill there next week.  Looking for something casual/relaxed?

Open to any sort of cuisine.

Mowgli's in grand central is great, Rudy's just up the road from New Street station too is pretty nice as well.

Yes but to another person,  their family could be missing out and the much needed $60 is now gone.

Hard times and all that but the thief obviously doesn't care about that.:surrender:

The village curry shop sways from awesome to abysmal depending on the cooks they haven’t had deported. We’ve hit a bleak period where the chicken dhansak is the most awful pile of gash. I would happily vote for a government that can guarantee the stability of my Saturday curry.

Or you could just go elsewhere. Bound to be plenty of local curry eateries either in person or on a food app.

Only five places will deliver, only one of them is curry. Papa Johns, two other shit pizza places, and a couple of ‘we do everything but it’s shit’. Nearest decent curry alternative is a 14 mile drive away. The price we pay for living where I can walk the dogs across fields and through woods without seeing a soul.

OK. Alternatively get on Al's Kitchen youtube channel and cook your own BIR style curries in around 30 mins.
