I'm seeing Bayern have changed their minds, they are going to play in the ESL along with PSG and Porto joining as well, think they want 20 teams.

They are 51% own by the fans, if the fans are against it, this will not fly.

Just watching Sky Sports News and they are deriding this scandalous decision BUT they are the ones who set this big 6 bollocks up in the first place which has given them all delusions of grandeur.

They are as guilty as anyone else for what has happened.

They are but keep in mind that when rugby union went through this exact situation, it was BT Sport waiting in the wings with a TV deal planned with the group making the "new" competition, essentially stealing the Heineken Cup from sky.

Also given BT currently have exclusive rights to the Champions League and Europa League having frozen Sky out of that.

I wouldn't be surprised if BT and other broadcasters have been involved in the conversation. What have BT been saying about it? Because all the reactions I've seen have been Sky, talksport BBC, tabloids, etc.

I hope so but fans are fickle, I'm seeing the opinion of fans turn with more coming out in favour of it, like they're selling their soul, we can all see it but them

If Jose has actually walked/been sacked because he spoke out about the ESL then kudos to him.

according to someone I know linked to the club.... refused to take the players out to train due to the ESL story.

Have you watched Germany fans protest over ticket prices and anyone trying to break the 51% rule?

We could learn a lot from Germany football.

Let it happen, but kick them out of all other domestic and continental competition and ban anyone playing in it from representing their country.

It will turn into a glorified retirement league full of has-beens going for one last big payday.

Well they did owe us one.

The whole UEFA signing up for Champions League amendments does have a "Peace in our Time" feel to it upon reflection...

Especially at Bayern with their Ultras. They have been banging against this kind of stuff for years.

If Uefa, Fifa and the FA stick to their guns then fair play to them.

It will be like the Chinese league from a few seasons back if they stick to their guns.

I know they were strongly against it last night after the game. Rio Ferdinand especially scathing.

I doubt BT or Sky will be anywhere near the rights for this anyway. Will definitely go to the big American brands Amazon, Netflix or both.

Sky especially will feel the pinch of this through cancelled subscriptions and loss of viewing figures for advertising etc.

This is a truly black day for the game I love. Virtually none of the real fans of these big 6 clubs want this. Feel for them.

My brother in law is a massive Man Utd fan and has had a season ticket for more than 50 years. He has said already that he will not be renewing and is absolutely gutted at what his club has done.

Potentially massive £££. It’s the same all the way down.

They must have a mega media deal and big sponsors worth more than it is costing them.

I still think it won't happen. These teams will be kicked out of all uefa and Fifa comps. Players coaches and staff banned for life. If ever any of these teams want to re-enter they will have to do so from the conference.

What coach would put their whole career in the line after being sacked by one of these clubs. Where do they get their next job after being banned. Same for players.

Uefa will throw everything they can at these teams owners players coaches. This will be the end of the so called big 6.

Sanctions will be set right now for this move and as I said i can't see it happening only with the English Spanish and Italian teams. It has already failed.

Not sure you should brand your "Socialism NOW!" campaign against the backdrop of the Liver building if I can be blunt for a moment

Whether you believe it or not, there is no doubting that Liverpool, both in a sporting context, and politically, is a socialist city. I'm not talking about Guevara, Marx, Venezuela and Kenny Dalglish having the hammer and sickle tattooed on his chest. I'm talking about a football club that was built for the working classes, by the working classes, that have, in the past at least, been managed and ran by people who care about the city and not just the football club/their wages.

Shankly's reign was long before my time, but from what I have read, watched, heard it would appear that Klopp and Shankly are seemingly cut from the same cloth. They are/were both passionate about the game, the culture, the politics, the city, the individual as opposed to simply being a decent football side and then moving on to pastures new.

It's hard to remain true to your working class routes when you're a successful club in a sport that becomes more and more of a morally bankrupt business with every passing year, but the fact remains that Liverpool do a decent job of doing just that and they, along with United, are the ones that have disappointed me the most. Arsenal would have been a shock a decade or so ago, but not now, and Spurs, Chelsea and Man City offers no surprise whatsoever.

Jose has just been sacked. Hope he comes out and derides this whole ****ing thing.

He absolutely will do, he'll be £20m better off and can take the moral high ground and save his reputation.

Time for a change in legislation in the UK that give fans more of a voice, not just for this, but also the joke owners that have destroyed clubs like Bury et all.
