I don't see how we can do better than this guy in this position bearing in mind we will most likely need a CB as well.  We don't necessarily need a top quality player out on the right, just someone to add competition to places which will then bring out the best in everyone else.  We all know it was far too predictable at times last season, this guy would give us further attacking options.

Poor choice of words by the club and would hack any player off. Doesn't give the player the right to post job offers and bids that have came to the club (not him).

I don't know his situation and it could be worse or not so from his post, but it appears that he's made his name, got into the prem and now wants more. Fair play, I'm sure anyone does.

I also can't help but suspect.....that....he's....been....knocking-up (sorry knocking-on) his bosses dildo (I meant door)...to salivatate (I meant frustrate) them to asphyxiation about his back bending bid.

I do not particularly want him here (but purely on football grounds) for the fee WBA would want.

Nonetheless, reasonably certain he's referring to personal terms offered to HIM. We pretty much had the same situation with Fofana before even coming close to St. Etienne accepting our bid. Furthermore, he did not actually post "job offers" nor any details thereof (certainly did not mention names, unlike Fofana with us). He merely described the impact it would have on his and his family's life - pretty much as Fofana did in respect of our offer.

Regardless of what I think of him as a footballer (and I certainly do not think he would be worth as much to us as WBA reportedly appear to want), these lads have a relatively short career lifespan, and even that could come to an abrupt end at any time via injury. Sorry, but cannot begrudge him. He has a right to not only DEFEND his reputation, but to look out for his livelihood.

Do you know something I don’t about Big Sam?

If there’s any truth in the rumours that he’s pushing West Brom to take a lowball offer from Saudi so he can go earn a lot more than he can here then I suspect our recruitment team will be trying to find out if he really wants that or it’s his agent pushing him …..

it’s not a good look ……

Any big WBA fans out there? I’d like to know who they think played better for them - Harvey Barnes or Pereira?

Barnes played championship football.

Pereira played Premier league football.

Barnes played 26 games and scored 9 goal and 6 assists.

Pereira played 33 games and scored 11 goals with 6 assists.

To me Pereira had the better seasons but Barnes is clear because he has come on leaps and bounds pre injury.

Regardless we need to sign him or another RW ASAP!

The problem with special is it would cost the club an arm and a leg and we are not in the 50 million market. Pereira is a solid quality player at an affordable price.

Not necessarily, buying from English leagues is always more expensive. Someone like Fairve would cost the same but seems to have higher ability, higher ceiling and higher sell on value.

He’s be an improvement on what we have for sure, but it’s not as exciting as Daka etc.

Is he an upgrade on Mahrez? No but no one is.

I have news for you- Mahrez left 3 years ago.

but not a big upgrade on what we have?

you are off your rocker mate..

Not sure where the Mahrez comment came from tbh. I just think there’s better value for money out there than this. Edouard and Daka were the same price yet we all think that Daka is going to be twice the player.

A loan with option to buy would be decent business, but I’d much rather we sign a Faivre or Madueke. Someone that’s a bit more exciting and is a little better then just “solid” or “fine”.

Why would west ham want him they already have Benrama who is pretty similar.

And Jarrod Bowen who is mainly there right winger

WBA fans seriously rate him. I have mate who’s a baggies fan for some odd reason. He said he’s literally the only reason most fans watched them last season, as they were pretty doggo. Him and that young chap Gallagher.

Unlike Benrahma he’s actually produced in the premier league.

Great. We’ll I’m sold! I would imagine we’ve enquired, at the least. God knows what’ll happen 🤷🏻‍♂️

...had he not posted his comments, what would your impression be, of him!!!

It is not unheard of for a player to insists that if a bid above a certain amount is made, for his services, then he will be informed.

If that situation had been met then he is perfectly entitled to speak to his manager about the approach.

His response was to correct a slur on his integrity, it should never have got to this stage, but to berate him for standing up for himself is just wrong.

He hasn't written his statement from an airport, .....now that was crass!!

Athletic reporting that WBA want £30m for him.

Their leverage is completely blown, they’ll realistically be looking at around half that fee.

Absolutely…. You can get more for your money in Europe… I think WBA will be forced to either accept a lesser fee or agree to loan him. It’s going to be a deadline day job though…… so do we look elsewhere? I don’t want us to be scrambling around on deadline day.

West Brom, even after his statement yesterday, are not willing to budge on their valuation of £30m (however it is felt £25m could be enough)

He is only on £30k a week

No Prem club has made an offer so far, no contact from us or Villa, West Ham have shown interest but it hasn’t turned into a concrete move

Doesn't even sound like we're interested.

Interestingly it also mentions that another Prem team were interested as they were fans of his attacking abilities but had reservations regarding his defensive abilities and didn’t want to pay more than £15m for him

Wouldn’t surprise me if that was the position we have took as well
