I get your point but my price would be way higher than what Burnley will be willing to pay.

£20m. Considering his contract is nearly up. Otherwise much more. Weren't they saying £50m for McNeil before covid?

He has qualities for us that are basically irreplaceable. If we need the money, sell someone with less experience and understanding of the club. I'd be trying to keep several of the title winners around as coaches after they retire. Possibly including Albrighton.

So we agree Albrighton should be sold at the right price but we differ on the value.

His time as a starting player has to be up now but he's lived in Tamworth his whole life and his children go to school there, so don't see him leaving for Burnley at all.

No I'm just saying that to try and get rid of you. I can't believe that isn't obvious. ****ing hate the Internet.

I always thought he'd finish his career back at Villa but I think their recent rise means they're shopping for more exotic players now.

Got no problem with Marc staying so long as he's fully aware that he's most likely only going to be a break glass in case of emergency utility option.

Albrighton has to be one of the most overrated players at this club in the last decade. People keep calling him underrated but 80% on here are overeating him by a lot. It has become a boring tired lazy cliche to say Albrighton is underrated. He is not.

Relax.  Burnley makes Tamworth look on par with Monte Carlo.

Here comes this guy again. Sorry Albrighton shagged your girlfriend, you’ll get over it.

At least you’re actually trashing him on a thread dedicated to him and not looking for any excuse to do it on another player’s thread. Well done.

I think he's rated pretty fairly on the whole. Just in this thread you've got some people saying he's nowhere near our level and some at the opposite end of the scale who reckon he puts in 8/10 performances every week. Neither are true and I think most people would accept that he's a decent backup option whose work rate and defensive qualities sort of balance out his fairly poor attacking output.

I agree. Im fine with Albrighton staying. He's an OK squad player on modest wages. If he leaves I'm also OK with it.

People call him "underrated" every time he has a good game. Probably has the most threads on here as a player.

It is a lazy cliche, I agree.

Why would he want to leave with perks like that? lol

Everyone has their price.

Don’t want us to sell him and don’t think we would/ he would even want to go. Also don’t think Burnley would offer what it would be worth to us to let him go.

But I’d go with £7m+. Replace him with Olise, so we have a player with a higher ceiling for not much net spend. Although that’s another experienced head gone with an already young squad, so again keep for me.

If Kevin wants to go, let him go.

If he doesn’t he can see out PL games, start in all cup games including Europa.

He knows what the manager wants, how to deliver it and is a key and loved component of the dressing room.

Sell yeah if the player wants to go and even then I wouldn’t if we couldn’t get 15 plus.

No sentimentally, this is about ability not history.

I don't think anyone has said he's useless but as with every player it's price dependent.

An offer of £8m+ would be a sell

An offer of £4m-£8m would be worth considering

An offer of less than £4m is probably a no

Albrighton is 31 and a squad player, a chance to cash in on players with this profile has to be entertained at the right price.

It's bad enough people saying we're too big time Charlie for a small-fry like Marc, but to then see these 'adequate' prices being suggested... I would have said under £20m would be low-balling it but not even £10m?!  For a club legend still with plenty to give the team?  Into the sea with you both.

That's obviously because you have no idea on value.

Valuing Albrighton at £20m when we know his level which is a good squad member and we know his age is 31 so it's only going south from here. You're valuing him at a similar price to Daka and Soumare who are both young quality players whose ceiling are maybe world class players.

Just glad you aren't running the club.

Unless Marc wants the move I can't see us wanting to sell him which means we set the price we think we'd be able to adequately replace him at, regardless of how many years he has left.

Relax, it's all hypothetical anyway, Marc's going nowhere

Happy for him to stay or go to be honest but it's all price dependent.

And that price is a fair bit north of £8m

Well it's all about opinions but taking the emotion out of it how much would you want to play for another 31yo PL player with one year left on his contract who is probably a mid table player at the very best? Especially if he was coming here to be a squad player.
