urban fox Posted 30 August 2021 Posted 30 August 2021 When we had Mahrez, Simpson sat and we had Albrighton playing from deeper on left with Fuchs overlapping. Now we have Barnes on the left the situation is the same but reversed. You cannot have two wingers simply bombing forwards all the time. Hence why i have felt for along time that whilst FT wants a RW, BR does not. We have a talented LW and RBs who will bomb forward with pace and provide that width on the right with a RM who will provide cover. As Barnes is our most dynamic wide forward and we we have good RBs it makes sense that we look for cover for Barnes rather than an out and out RW. Lookman may seem an underwhelming signing, but that is simply because he is not what many have gotten themselves into a frenzy over. He is a decent player who could do well for us if given the chance. Like them or not we have cover for the right side of midfield but nothing on the left (unless Albrighton shifts over, but then that leaves us short on the right) so in some ways this makes sense as when Barnes got injured we were forced to completely change shape. 3

I know it was on the left but him and Barnes can swap throughout games, keep teams guessing. When Barnes was out season we had to change completely. he’s a decent player who still has potential, our perfect type. 3
