to be fair he made a great save first half after having nothing to do for the first 30 minutes… to be that switched on after doing nothing for so long is impressive.

Glad Harvey got a goal and 90 minutes in his legs but he should have killed the game with that chance for 3-1.

The match itself was very typical of a league cup game.

 

A lot of key players rested, and some precious game time for some fringe players.

 

Had a really bad feeling about penalties, watching some of our previous shoot outs hasn't done much for my confidence however some absolutely brilliant penalties tonight.

 

Given the circumstances,  that's a good result and now to look forward to the draw on Saturday.

 

Sunderland would be the best tie in terms of the club, but personally I hope we get Brentford so I get another chance to tick off their stadium having missed out in the PL.

 

This has a midweek trip to West Ham written all over it though.
