Why isn’t there a song or chant for Maddison?

Maddison would ****ing love the darts anthem being his chant and all. Great suggestion! If it means we get that dartboard celebration more often too I'm onboard, it'll be a laugh.

 

I also feel like Madders is the type of player who will really play up to having a big chant take off. He's said in interviews before that he likes being the centre of attention and the name on everyone's lips. Let's make it happen. It'll be fire at Forest away when he slams a 30 yard ripper in and we unleash the darts anthem.

I've thought this several times this season and almost started this thread a while back.

 

It's a bit weird that he's never had a proper chant, we did Mahrez dirty the same way too.

 

I figured there probably technically was a Maddison chant or two somewhere but that they were just too shit to catch on. 

 

Someone definitely needs to correct that. He's been here so long it's borderline offensive at this point we never hear his name sung.

That's cracking. Mostly because it's catchy, easy and everyone will join in. Plus people are right, he'll probably find it hilarious.

Players get chants based on how easy it is to fit their name into something well known or catchy. 
 

Adrien Silva and Mendy had/have catchy songs, they’re obviously both worse players than Maddison and have left very little of an impression on the club. At the time those two tunes were flavour of the month though so naturally got an airing.

 

Most of the time our fans say we need a song for _____ they don’t bother to come up with one themselves.

All the chants from the flag wavers are dire and never take off, and can't be heard at the other end of the ground anyway.

I don’t think they’ve ever proclaimed to be Ultra’s. Just a group of lads who like to create an atmosphere whilst coming up with a bit of individuality. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I’d much prefer a bit of atmosphere rather than us having some sort of total library every game.

Can I ask where this perception comes from? There's a reason footballers coming to England often talk about the fans and atmosphere.

 

From my own experiences of places like Italy, Belgium, Romania for example, apart from a small pocket of fans, the atmosphere is far worse than what you'd generally get in this country.

 

Best atmosphere's I've been around would still probably be a few Leicester games where there was a lot on the line (and of course because you feel it yourself) but it's actually a title deciding game in Tunisia that I would rank as the best atmosphere I've experienced. Didn't have a clue what was going on half the time but was something else.
