Hypothetical question on our Vardy, Schmeichal and Evans.

If we were offered money for Vardy, Kasper or Evans in the summer.

Kasper - Great shot stopper but that's just about where it ends. Distribution & Command of area are extremely poor, always have been and nothings going to change that now at this point of his career. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, and i have no evidence to back it up, but i think he's played a big part every time the players have decided not to play for certain managers. Strikes me as a very mardy & influential person.

 

Evans - I've said it before, but i think his persistent injuries will see him take an earlier than expected retirement and head into coaching or something. His injuries are the reason i'd say sell.

Vardy - He's a club legend, Still plenty of goals left in him too.

Evans. Can't see anyone offering money for.

 

Vardy. Flat no.

 

Kasper. Starting to think he wants out. So depends on the offer and what we could do with it. I'm not sold on Danny Ward being his replacement.

None of these guys owe us anything. 
I’d like to think we would like to keep them here as long as they can still play at a level befitting their reputations. They all offer much more than just their individual skills on the pitch. That said if they have desires to pursue final swansongs elsewhere before they retire from playing I’m sure Top would be accommodating. I don think money would be an issue. Likewise if they could no longer command a starting position I think we would handle it sensitively like we did with Wes. 
Just wish they could play on forever.

Keep Vardy as long as possible, at some point I reckon he'll want to go to that US team he owns. Evans cant be relied upon with his injuries. Schmeichel might want one last challenge elsewhere, if so I think we'd let him go.

Aren't these 3 the only leaders we have? Their mere presence at the club is a bonus. We lost Morgan and Fuchs last Summer. I don't think we can afford to lose anymore so soon.

We desperately need an experienced CB who can organise the back line. Look at the difference in a player like Soyuncu when he plays next to Evans. At 34 he’s moving towards the end of his career, but I would keep him to do the Wes Morgan role.

Vardy continues to adapt his game, and from now on I think he will play second fiddle to Daka even when fully fit, but what a player to have around for Daka to continue to learn from - a bit like when we had 40 year old Kevin Phillips knocking around. The only way I see Vardy leaving is if he wants to have a season or two playing in America, maybe for the club he owns over there, or maybe joining Fuchs.

Kasper, I think is the best keeper we’ve ever had - yes I know Banks and  Shilton, but in terms of what they’ve actually done for us, not what they’ve done elsewhere, Kasper is the best for me. He would be a huge loss in the dressing room. I think he and Vardy set the standards around the place, however, I think he will go at the end of the season  and with Ward and Iversen we may not need to look to hard for a replacement.

If either one, two or all of these players leave, we need to actively look to recruit a captain. Ideally a CB, but regardless of position a leader on and off the pitch needs to come in. 
I think without Vardy and Evans that is the biggest thing we are missing. With a leader out there the defeat to Spurs doesn’t happen.

Justin, KDH and Luke Thomas, could all be leaders in the future and will play a role as we move forwards, but in the meantime we need that experienced pro with high standards for the youngster to aim for.

Schmeichel’s contract expires next summer. Not sure we could justify a new one if he wants a wage increase and 3 more years. 
 

I can’t remember what exactly the comments were about playing abroad or at the highest level where but if he wants out, see ya.
