I thought we had the third best defensive record but couldn't  score when we went down to league one

We got relegated on the final day in May 2008 holding a second placed finishing team to a goaless draw who we should've beaten on the day - and with a -2  goal difference I think - unreal and a wholly crazy season! The rest as they say is .... history!

Would we accept repeating it, if we win the PL in another 8 years time? :P

When do we start to be worried? Our saving grace is that there is at least 3 teams worse than us. We need to pick up our form nonetheless.

Never.  LCFC got 99 problems but relegation this season ain’t one.

The same people saying we don’t need to worry now, are the same ones saying we didn’t need to worry about top 4.

If if you’re not worrying then your simply not seeing the situation we are in.

We we should be too good to go down but we are 1/2 more injuries away from serious disaster

One, no they’re not the same people - at least not in my case.  And two, the teams 5th and 6th in the table are a lot more likely to go on a run of wins and catch you than the teams 18-20th.

Totally agree plus, we are 12th there would have to be a fair few teams that need to pass us too, honestly Leeds, Norwich or Watford don’t look like they can make the gap up at all.

I think we have enough points in the bag and quality to pick up enough results in the run in to stay out of trouble this season, however the very fact we are having this debate shows how poor we have been.

clever recruitment in the summer and we can look forward to looking up the table and challenging for European places, however if we get it wrong it is easy to see us getting sucked into the bottom half battle next season. Massive summer of decision making ahead for the club

If we continue to slide... but just stay up...

Doesn't look good to recruit next season... we would be favourites for relegation following season...

We can't stay sliding.

If we then have a bad start.....Rogers does then get sacked, we got a team of new players to try motivate to be successful

Standing back and reading through some of the concerns, I understand the frustration, but we’ve started to get out game together in recent weeks.

injuries are starting to clear up and I’m confident we’ll see through the season. How we finish the season is more important than just staying up.

we all know what an end of season we had an 2014/15 and that momentum carried into 2015/16… well, we know what that turned into.

need to close ranks with the young talent/ brought through the academy and play fearlessly again.:scarf:

the last couple of games - we’ve turned the corner

Why??????  Why would you expect to win there?  They’ve lost 3 at home so far. a draw is way more likely and that means we’re a worldie or a bad ref call away from a one goal defeat.

I was referring more to another gutless performance if we get bullied off the park playing tippy tappy rubbish with no plan. A draw wouldn't be a bad result.

Okay, my take.

7 points is not great and is largely unacceptable. We do have a game in hand though.

I’d be more concerned if I was Everton, Brentford, Leeds, Burnley, Watford or Norwich, maybe even Crystal Palace. We’ll finish above all of them.

Ourselves, Villa and Newcastle have more than enough quality to not get relegated.

We’ll finished somewhere between 9th and 13th.

Everton are only two points above the drop zone with Man City, Spurs and Wolves their next three. Lampard could be under all kinds of pressure, though two of those are at home where they’ve been much better.

Burnley 3rd from bottom have 20 points from 23 games.

7 points is 35% of their current points total and if they carry on a their current point per game they will catch us in 8 games.

If we can pick up any points in that time we deserve to be in trouble.

How is this all relevant?
We all know that form doesn’t trend like this at the arse end of a season. Fact is, they have their tails up at the moment and have 2 wins on the bounce and they are also our next game. They have palace first.

They could be breathing down our necks by Tuesday eve.

We're about 80/1 against for relegation and 6/1 joint favourites to win the Europa Conference League. So the chances of being in both the Championship and the Europa League next season are about 480/1. I doubt that either will happen.

We won the Premier League at 5000/1. For Leicester, this is basically odds on!

Yes a) because we haven’t won a f**king game in a while and b) we don’t cope well under pressure.

The sooner Rodgers leaves the better.
