oxtonfox Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 Think Brendan may go 3 or 5 at the back to counter their 2 strikers. I’d like to see Nacho up front with Daka or Vardy. Tielemans, Maddison and KDH in midfield. Ricardo and Thomas as wingbacks and Soy Wilf and Dan as back 3. Mendy could be a shout as holding midfield instead of KDH.? I may be totally wrong but I think that is worth a try. We’re a car crash in defence with just 2 CBs
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 Lose this and we are really staring at the danger zone. Anything less than 3 points and I will struggle not to buy a ticket on the 'Brendan out' bus 3
smudgerfox Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 “You don’t put someone in for one game and then see them out for another five." Sean Dyche to which I would say that If you do you can always call it bad luck

However off form that Ndidi and Youri might be, I can't ever envisage choosing to select Hamza and Soumaré over them. 1

Opting to play KDH instead of Tielemans hasn't made us any better defensively before Xmas I don't recall and going forward there's still nobody more devastating at unlocking the opposition than Tielemans, his pass for Lookman's goal vs Wolves will be credited as an Albrighton assist but no other player than Tielemans provides us with that opening. It's a real tricky one how we get Ndidi back to his colossal self. I'm not against dropping Youri by the way if it would help but I'm not so sure it will. That's why the diamond is probably our best option right now ad KDH also is integral to us. I think a big part of why Ndidi isn't performing is how Rodgers is trying to employ him. He's great at breaking up play and covering his defence but he's no Ngolo Kante, his passing isn't good enough for starters. Played in a Makelele type role and you have an excellent player. There are times when Rodgers has played Tielemans alongside Ndidi and they get overrun. I don't blame Tielemans for this either. His overall play recently has been poor though and contribution little. He's caused more problems than he's solved. Yes, there was that pass against Wolves but he did little else compared to others. 1

Yes, I'm in agreement that the roles of the midfield is currently wrong. At time Ndidi seems to be more advanced than Youri and when the ball gets overturned we're in trouble and Wilf isn't where we want him nor is Youri on his own. 5

The blue dummy thing looks more mobile and tactically aware than a certain tall Danish international ( Not Kasper) There was a lot of new energy in the room tonight, and some of it was just so rainbow rhythms, and some of it was just so not rainbow rhythms 2
foxinsocks Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 If he loses this or Leeds Rodgers is finished 4
Corky Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 Vardy being back is huge. He gives everyone a lift, the team and crowd seem happier when he's in. 3

HibiscusMark Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 Scary how quickly relegation catches up when you’re playing crap. Burnley will be within 3 points if we lose, so must win. 1

Great full back but most definitely not a wingback, looks so uncomfortable when he has played LWB. 6

CrispinLA in Texas Posted 28 February 2022 Posted 28 February 2022 Just read that the team that had scored first didn't win in any of the last five league matches between them and us, so hopefully Burnley score first 🤞

I thought he'd picked it up while recovering from the thigh injury, because with his record here it appears as if he's made of biscoff biscuits. Curious to know the longest run of games he's put together here in 3 years. He's only been here half that time mate😂 In answer to your question, according to transfermarkt it seems to be around 20 or so 1

We’re a car crash in defence with just 2 CBs ....we are also a car crash with three!!! Soyuncu who struggles playing in a back three will be happy to hear this. We are going to push our Wingbacks up to the halfway line and Burnley will exploit the space vacated by them. There will be a lot of passing the ball around at the back resulting in a big hoof by the Kasper which goes out of touch having failed to reach the half way line. We are about to do the same thing all over again, just to incorporate two upfront. There are better options!! 1
