We won't want to keep covering a portion of his wages - he'll be on 60k plus so he'll create significant room if we can ship him off permanently.

Jakemoore Posted 30 June 2022 Posted 30 June 2022 I still don’t understand why BR wants two CMs when we have Dennis Praet at the club. He’s a quality player but never got a fair chance with us. That pass at Brentford away a few years ago will go down as one of the greatest indirect assists ever. 2 1

Can’t really build a legacy on one pass…. Quality is probably a step too far, steady is probably the right analysis. Anyway, the emergence of KDH has pretty much ended any hope of Praet getting into the team. He’s a fairly ordinary player, so I’m not at all fussed he’s going. 11 1

Praet wants to play every week, especially in a World Cup year, we can’t offer him that. He’s a good player who I rate highly, but isn’t in our best XI.

He played 60 games over two seasons for a start so not sure about not having a chance. Before any says he's minutes played were equal to 33 full games. Sometimes players have to take responsibility, KDH took his chance and made it difficult for the manager to drop him, Praet didn't Edited 30 June 2022 by coolhandfox 2

st albans fox Posted 30 June 2022 Posted 30 June 2022 Be ironic if Dennis goes to fiorentina, plays every week and smashes it whilst youri goes to yanited/arsenal and hardly plays dennis is then selected ahead of YT for Belgium! 3

But he could do a job in all 3 positions which made him an ideal sub/squad player, but he didn't want. 7

They only want him on loan or for the price of a bag of chips. I wouldn't say they are massively in love with him.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 June 2022 Posted 30 June 2022 Will free up a decent amount of money if we get shift him permanently for 8-10m.

He impressed them in matches, it’s just the usual peanut gallery nonsense saying otherwise. He was hurt too often but he was one of their better players when he wasn’t. 2

moore_94 Posted 30 June 2022 Author Posted 30 June 2022 Seems like he will probably be going Fiorentina Indeed, the sale of Dennis Praet (who will sign at Fiorentina) should favor Leicester and leave them in the race to sign Charles De Ketelaere. Everything is still very open. - rest of CDK stuff is in his thread 1
jayfox26 Posted 30 June 2022 Posted 30 June 2022 Seems Fiorentina have tried to do to Arsenal with the Torreira deal like Torino have tried to do to us with Praet. Agree a buy out fee and then try to knock it down at end of the loan. If they ain't willing to pay what we want then fck them I say! Italian teams are quick to rip off prem teams with transfer fees so they can piss off if they think we'll just let our players go cheap 2

I won't begrudge Torino trying to lower the price for a player who was injured a lot last season. They're not a Turkish club baulking at paying a couple of million for their past season's most creative player.

My understanding was that he wasn't our top priority for transfers and we were looking to move a few players on and sign our main targets first before we try to get Lookman.
Popular Post mozartfox Posted 1 July 2022 Popular Post Posted 1 July 2022 Rudders take a leaf out of Arsenal’s book…… As per reports, the Gunners had a £13m deal in place for Torreira to join Fiorentina at the end of last season following the conclusion of his loan spell. However, the Tuscan club reportedly tried to lower the asking price to a measly £6m, a proposition so bad that Arsenal ended talks entirely, with the Uruguayan now back in north London. Do not do any business with Italian or Turkish Clubs!!!!!!!!! 5
