Going to be watching with interest, defenders stats can be very volatile depending on the team and style they play for. He's certainly not in the bottom 8% of defenders who head the ball, no way. Likewise Reims don't play out from the back in the same philosophy that we do, so it will be a let's see what he's like but it doesn't seem an obvious like for like replacement given how dominant Fofana was in the two areas we so badly need.

....Rodgers will bring Soyuncu back into the fold!!!

When he has three very good CBs he ops for the back three. Faes will be the rock in the defence and Soyuncu will look to go forward, while Evans will just read the game and tidy up.

Looks like we are going back to proper defenders who will put his body on the line, it can't come soon enough.

What I don't understand is why a set piece coach has just arrived - weren't the club talking about hiring one in like March or something?

Let's hope he's good, I'm not sure we could be much worse.

....no, back then Rodgers didn't know he needed one, it took the pundits in the media to highlight the dilemma!!!

He does seem the real deal; have good feelings about this.

Obviously getting adjustment support by his fellow Belgium countrymen will have helped to ease him into the country/region.

Would love to see it, but that is very wishful thinking. More chance of Amartey in that 3.

i know it goes against all human nature, but let’s try and not judge him based on what is very likely to be a heavy defeat today. Not an ideal situation for any defender to step into

He isn't gonna transform our shower of a defence overnight, but I've been happy with the aggression at least.
