The “with all due respect” is killing me.

An absolute classic of the genre.

I cannot wait until he's gone. Puel was as bad but you could hang your hat on the fact it was a young, upwardly mobile squad that everyone knew was heading one way.

What's he leaving us with? A squad that plays with its head down because it's consistently, publicly told it belongs in the ****ing Vanarama.

Get ****ed you little shortarse.

The thing that had me clinging on to the end with Puel was that you could tell he was hurting and tell her cared. He also handled to toughest moment in our history incredibly well.

Anyone able to enlighten me on what was said regarding Castagne. If it wasn’t a knock, thought it was telling that his replacement on the right missed a chance that I would have been confident Timothy would have at least hit the target with.

You can listen to here, about 28 mins in: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0csf9bh

Essentially says we've conceded too many goals and needed to change up the defence, "putting in players who can defend well" and praising Thomas as someone "who's never let him down".

That phrase is one of my pet peeves. Can’t stand it.

Rodgers does not seem to be able to address the slump despite the majority of the players were good enough not so long ago. He has been giving negative vibes for a long time surely he is part of the problem

Well it was a wasted 50m, the fact 0 of the 5 come off is pretty bad… it doesn’t matter what we thought at the time, he is paid millions to get these things right. Plus the squad is much better than how they are performing at this moment. Let’s not forget the wages being paid to those players too

Again…..Vestegaard - had a really good euros and was £15m, he was to be behind Evans and Soyuncu.

Bertrand - for a free to replace Fuchs to cover position with Thomas and Justin

Daka - we all thought he would be amazing.

Soumare - again other rival fans were drooling over us signing this ligue 1 winner.

Lookman - loan did really well but wasn’t the RW we needed.

Ward seems to be his love child and he is so average. Championship level keeper

I feel this might be him done in the PL as well, for a while at least.  Pundits are still on brand but I don’t see another PL risking a big contract on him. Certainly a long term one on a high salary. Reading the Villa forums is funny as their complaints about Gerrard mirror ours about Brendan. We are nice compared to what that club would do to him, and if they appointment him the fans would expect a top 5 finish, as that’s what he did here. When he fails they would crucify him.

He needs to step away from the game for a while. He started managing young and it’s clear managers have a shelf life. In his early 40s he was seen as progressive, but we can see from the other PL teams he is now old hat, old fashioned and out of touch. I don’t think he understands the game anymore, and he’s clearly not a big draw for players.

I remember at the end of the 20/21 season when we failed (bottled it) to finish in the CL places. Cracks were appearing then not just in the make up of our team but performances and our style of play.

opposition teams would defend deep and invite us onto them knowing that we would struggle to break them down..

last season was a poor one (we finished 8th due to a late run of wins)

Nearly 18 months later, we still have no answer to breaking the opposition  down.

it’s a painful watch, our balance of the team isn’t there either.

whilst I understand our issues with trimming the squad and getting rid of the deadwood (fair few Rodgers signings btw) if we were to suffer relegation, I dread to think what happens , it will be a long way back with having players on big contracts/wages… which again is the reason we can not shift current players

I think he gets a little too much credit for essentially acting like a decent human being during that period but it at least felt like he and the board were in sync in terms of direction, our transfer targets made sense as did those we actually got over the line.

Now we're missing out on players like Boga that wouldn't look out of place in Sunderland's final throes in the Barclays.

I can't stand the squad this manager is currently wasting, the way he has us playing and the self preservation. I can't believe someone can manage a side at this level and be so blind to obvious issues. I can't believe how he freezes players out, players that coat substantial amounts for a club our size, then has the ****ing stones to moan about a lack of funds.

Absolute bellend we'll be so much better off without.

Amen

Nowhere near the level, but obviously fine to sit on the bench and come on in anyone gets injured lol

I was more concerned that he called him Suyonco!! I thought we’d signed a new player who he didn’t want!

He's clearly lost the players. Rather than inspired at half time, they all walked out of the tunnel looking incredibly pissed off and disinterested - and the performance that followed matched that.

The FA Cup papered over some crater sized cracks at the time and we've were dog **** for about 6 months prior to that as it was. The man has lost the changing room, a goalkeeper and captain who should have been here til retirement and an entire fanbase from the looks of it. Off you pop.

Tactically inept he is.

We started the game with 5 central midfielders today. Yeah one was playing CB but you could see first half what was happening. Too narrow, and everytime the fullbacks were being battered. That’s where the goal game from.
