Rodgers (Allegedly) Publicly Calls the Players Not Good Enough and Throws Them Under the Bus

He is also right. Incredible to see people that have spent the summer tearing their hair out about our need for signings, especially angsty people were early in summer before it became apparent what was happening are now getting all aggy when the manager says it as it is.

I get he’s in self preservation mode so he looks a dick too but I’ll never criticise someone for calling a spade a spade. I doubt the players disagree, many of them don’t even want to be here.

Why doesn’t he mention the money he has wasted on Perez, Vestergaaard, Bertrand, Praet, Soumare,Daka, Bennett, Under

You know it's not his money right? The board sanction the deals.

No one is saying he’s wrong, but you don’t undermine the quality of your players in public. How is that anything but massively demotivating and really going to make the players want to play for him?

As if they need demotivating any more

He’s right. Whether he’s right to say it is another thing. Everyone else has invested and improved. We haven’t even stood still we’ve weakened.

We should still have enough though to best Brentford at home and not lose to Southampton, the other 3 are tough games whoever is manager.

I do not get the anger towards Rodger’s, you might feel he’s not good enough but it’s up to the board to sack him. He been a very successful manager for us.

I wanted him gone end of last season but the situation we’re in is more  the fault of the board than it is Rodger’s. I don’t like the way he’s represented our club in his time but hating him is strange, if we’re watching the finances he’s going nowhere.

Yeah that's what Foxestalk is for.

It’s a toxic situation but I’m sorry, it’s down to the board. If they’ve not given him the tools to do his job he’s gonna say it. If the club don’t believe in him and think he’s wrong they need to sack him.

Mmm... I wonder what Top and the board feel about the fallout of his remarks. There's bound to be some. He's effectively calling them into question and "blaming" them for our current predicament. As if it's nothing to do with him. Look at what happened at Liverpool.

They backed him last season. Maybe the recruitment is letting the whole side down but I dont blame the board for trying to be prudent and not spending like drunken sailors.

Fact is, this squad is not relegation worthy yet here we are.

He's done it very callously in my opinion.

Bad timing to do it. Parker got the sack for the same. He's an arrogant individual. Rudely so.

Did he want the board to sacrifice more finances and risk the clubs future?

I'm very surprised, for some reason, that he's come out saying that.

We understand why he hasn't been "helped" in the transfer market, but there should be no rational disagreement that in fact he hasn't been "helped" in the market.

There’s ways to deal with the hand he’s got. Raise his concerns with the board, point out the potential consequences of their strategy etc. But to start digging out members of your squad whilst defending others who are making big errors, calling out the lack of support publically and showing no sense of backs to the wall and fight is just self preservation of the worst kind. He’s a total bust who is only interested in his profile and next job now. Egocentric ****

I honestly think he’s trying to get himself sacked. Scott Parker got sacked for saying effectively the same thing as BR said tonight. Hopefully the board are fuming and relieve him off his pain and suffering.

That's not the point. He's publicly blaming everything on the board and not getting backing in the transfer market as if we're a team with Bournemouth's quality that should be bottom rather than a load of internationals and players that have been linked with 50+ million pound moves.

Saying we haven't had the backing we needed is akin to saying the board have let us all down.

The board is in shambles. The blame is everywhere. I know people like magic bullets but sacking Brendan lets other's off the hookk. Congerton to Glover. And I don't know who Bournemouth's keeper is but I'm sure he's a much better option than Ward.
