A very stereotypical British thread.

The weather.

We got woken up by a thunderstorm here in North West Leicestershire! Anyone else?

Woken up in Northants by what I think was the loudest thunder clap I've ever heard.  Storm was right over us and pretty intense at times, accompanied by torrential rain, but it passed through quite quickly.

NWL here.

Went to bed late at 2am-ish, and can confirm there was indeed a large thunderstorm.

Some excitement last night. Watched the lightning as the kids woke up to it. Some of it quite impressive overlooking LFE.

Always like a good storm. Would prefer not in the middle of the night.

That's our area. Didn't hear a thing, nor did Mrs FFF and she can hear a spider running across the carpet usually.

Absolutely lashed it down over goscote. Woke me and the wife up. She got up to close the window and opened the curtains at exactly the same time the brightest lightening I have even seen decided to light up the house.

Followed by one of the loudest claps of thunder I've heard.

Luckily as I don't have much time for mother nature. I hate not having some control lol it blew over quickly. But the rain must have lasted 45 mins and completely ruined the fact I needed to get up for work after 14 weeks off lol

Must've gone through a couple of litres of water drinking at work today. Would've drank more if I could.

Thanks Royal Mail for making our working hours later in the day, so that we work through the hottest time of day.

It rained last night and my car could camouflage nicely in the Sahara.  Its had lots of birds landing on it today which it doesn't normally get so it must look like a sand pit oasis from the sky.

big dilemma in this weather, work at home and melt or go in the office which has air con!

Presume you will also go back to the office when it gets cold so you don't have to turn your heating on?!
